If the Taylor injury rumors are as bad as feared, Toefeild is 1st in line to get the startging gig. There's upside there IMO.

Henry is gonna end up in Tennessee IMO. Alvin Pearman may be the sleeper back in Jacksonville.

Henry to Tennessee just doesn't make sense to me. Insuring Chris Brown is the least of that team's worries, IMO.

Henry is loved in Tennessee, by the fans, the team, and most importantly, the owner.

I have little doubt that ultimately, that's where he ends up. I think the Titans have realized that Chrissy Brown can't be an every down back. I fully anticipate Henry sharing the load with Brown in 2005.

I guess we'll see. I know the talk has been made, it's just one of those moves that doesn't make sense from a football perspective. The local teams in Minnesota routinely ignore local favorites, so it is not a concept that is all that common from where I come from. Chrissy Brown may not be an every down back, but there are bigger holes to fill on that team. I would think what is historically a well run franchise wouldn't make a move based on his status as a fan favorite, but who knows. I'm not ready to make a bet on it at this point, however. :idiot

Historically run into cap trouble. This team is not, as far as cap and management are concerned, a well run team. Either way, It's really the only out left for Henry, otherwise he'll be very unhappy stuck in BUF. JAC seems absolutely uninterested, at this point.

And who are you saving your chops for?

Jamie Sharper? Julian Peterson? Dont you have Urlacher and Brooks?

Oh yah I forgot.... Sammy Knight, yah he's a gamebreaker! That's who you're saving your 2660 cbs for!

Oh not Sammy Knight?

Joey Harrington?
Justin Fargas?
Amani Toomer?

No one out there is gamebreaker.... market is filled with back up players. But I'm sure with 2660 you can sign a bunch of backups and hope one hits.

I really don't know what you and Dodgers are saving you cash for?

PLayoffs next year? Doubt it. Future... who knows?

I just want to let everyone know that going forward, you should include the salary, and contract years in the thread you start for any cut players. This allows the other 11 teams to easily assess wether or not a waiver claim is appropriate. Also, for those contemplating claimed any waived players, intentions to do so must be made in the thread indicated the player is cut within 24 hours of the cut.

Wow, am I back up to having more money to spend than most? Who would have thunk it. I've been out of the running for players for so long, I didn't realize I was one saving my money.

True, there are no gamebreakers out there, but my roster is far from complete.

I think the rules state 72 hours for offseason, not 24. No?

EDIT: Quote from the rules site:
"The Waiver Wire
Each player waived will be placed on the waiver wire for a period of 24 hours during In Season Free Agency, and 72 hours during Off Season Free Agency. "

Sharper's would be a nice pickup at less than half his original price which would be lower than my projected rate.

Dodgers: What is the Waiver Wire Order (priority). Is it draft order or reverse draft order? Normally it would be based on last years final standings, but with this being the first year, seems like it would be most "fair" to do reverse draft order (and i am not just saying that because i picked toward the end of the draft).

Also, can we post this so as teams get bumped to the back of the line we can easily see what it is.

I think we should get this posted soon because I am sure there is a line forming to pick up Sharper off the wire. I am sure they are all just waiting to know if they should line up alphabetically(sp?) or by height.

Half price? What numbers are you using?

If a team claims a player, they claim his full contract, not a reduced price.

So if he had a 3 year deal at 500, you'd pick up the 3 years at 500. The cutting team gets relief in that half the cut penalty is dropped).

In Sharper's case, he had a 1 year contract at 900. Skip's facing a penalty of 180 for the cut of 180. If anyone claims him, they're claiming him at 900, and Skip's penalty is reduced to 90.

Quote:
The Waiver Wire

Each player waived will be placed on the waiver wire for a period of 24 hours during In Season Free Agency, and 72 hours during Off Season Free Agency. During this period, each team will have the opportunity to claim the waived player and assume his current contract without the player reaching Free Agency. During the appropriate waiver wire period, each interested team must post in the thread indicating the player was waived, their intention to claim said player. At the end of the waiver wire period, the team with the highest current waiver priority (as defined later) will assume the players current contract. The claiming team will have the standard 24 hours from the time of the claim to make room on their roster, before Roster Penalties will be enforced. In that case, the team with the second highest waiver priority will assume the players contract. If no teams make a claim for a waiver player within the waiver period, the player is considered an Unrestricted Free Agent.

If the waived player is claimed, the waiving team receives a credit in the amount of 10% of the current year’s salary (the portion of the cap hit that does not pertain to the signing bonus) to their active roster salary cap. If the claimed player is subsequently released during the length of the same contract, the waiving team will receive a cap hit of only 10% of the current years salary, as the singing bonus is to be considered paid by the original team. If the player is claimed through the waiver wire, the second waiving team will receive the 10% cap credit, and essentially no penalty for releasing the player.

The waiver priority list will be maintained by the Maplewood Mountain Lions in the Current Waiver Wire Order thread in the SAC'D Free Agency & Waiver Wire forum. Once the initial order has been set, it will not change until a transaction is made on the waiver wire. Once a team claims a player through the waiver process, they will be moved to the bottom of the waiver wire priority list. The order will never be reset. The order will only change based on transactions made through the waiver wire. The only way to move up in the waiver wire priority list is to have teams above you in priority claim players on the waiver wire.

As far as the question on the waiver order, I'll dig up how I was going to determine the order. It was either going to be random, or a reverse of the rookie order, or something like that. I don't remember, but I believe it was discussed. I'll set up a new thread in this forum.

Exactly! But if someone wants to waste 900cbs to claim Sharper, then all the power to him. I don't plan on claiming anyone that's been dropped so far...just hoping they clear waivers so I can possibly acquire them at a reduced auction value (refer to my original post).

OK, since I cannot locate how we were going to determine the initial waiver order, I will find a website to generate the order randomly, unless someone can come up with a better solution.

Why not just reverse it based on the draft order?

The actual draft order. I see no reason to pick waiver order slots. Kinda overkill.
