When was this decided as the start date? I know we talked about the 16th but I don't remember ever seeing anything official. Can someone point me in the right direction here?

Well, we didn't hold a vote, but everyone who commented indicated the 16th would be good, including yourself I believe.

I am fine with the date. I guess my concern is that it was never officially declared so I would not have known about it if RandiLover had not sent me an e-mail.

I am just realizing how long this will take. Good thing we started in May, August will seemingly be just enough time at this rate.

FYI, I split this out of the LT thread, we need to keep only bids in the threads, as it's the easiest way to keep track of the clock on the last bid.

All commentary should be posted in this thread.

I think it would be interesting if randilover won all 10 auctions that he is currently high on. Haven't done the math, but if he isnt over the cap with his bids, he is dang close.

Brings back memories of the CDL initial draft and some guys getting screwed.

I've been tracking it, and it'd be well under. It's a lot, but not of high salarys. Plus, this early, none of the bids will be the last.

BTW - after talking with preds, he was the one that was bidding up players and got stuck with a bunch of overpriced guys in CDL

Yup, but I traded my way out of 2 of the high bids, and went 15-0 that year before choking in the bowl... it CAN work as a stratagy! ;)

CDL was a different setup that year, 1st off, all the guys 'cept me and 1 or 2 others were new to auctions that year. Plus, after the initial auction, CDL lifted it's cap so you could be over the cap all summer. Made it a lot easier to overpay and shuffle around.

In SAC'D, you always have to stay under the cap and cannot exceed it for more than 24 hours without severe penalties, that changes things dramatically.

Brett made a comment in the LT thread on being shocked at the bidding. We cannot have commentary on the bids in the threads themselves as it messes up tracking when the bids expire, so I split his comment out and moved it over here with a :newbie reprimand. ;)
