If this is defensive move because I play you this week, it is for naught...the clock for bidding on Ball will stop tonight at midnight ;-) So he won't be a factor in this weeks games...

It could be a defensive play because I play you next week too...

While I would love to have him for 130, he is not yet sold - according to the rules:
"Also note, that for players involved in Thursday or Saturday games, the clock will suspend the evening prior to their game(s) at 11:59pm and won't resume until the following Tuesday at 12:00am" Thus, with the Donkeys playing Thursday, the clock stopped running Midnight Wednesday, and won't resume until Tuesday....longgggggggggggggggggggggggg wait...

The rules page I looked at said it locks at gametime... that's why I thought he had sold to you. I'll look back up to double check.

Either way, we need to clean this up. Thursday Players can ALWAYS be bid on after the game... the clock just won't start again until Tuesday morning. Plus, what's with 11:59pm Tuesday (that should be MONDAY!).

So what's the ruling...is he mine now, or is clock stopped? Seems to me the 2nd rules of suspending the clock at midnight of the day prior, is consistent with the main rule of clock stopping midnight Saturday for Sunday games.
But if he is mine, let me know, and I will make the necessary moves to add him to my roster...

What's the language in SAC'D?
I think you're right in that the midnight prior is consistent with the rules for Sunday games. I think I'd rule with midnight prior. |

This looks pretty straight-forward to the lawyer in me. The guiding principle comes from the rules for regular bids where the clock stops at 12:01 am on game day. Normally, game day is a Sunday, so players have to sell by Saturday. In this case, game day is Thursday, so a player has to sell by Wednesday. Lance Ball did not sell on Wednesday, so we wait. Just my $0.02.

I'm not a lawyer... didn't even sleep at a Holiday Inn last night... but yah, I'd agree.

We have the same discrepancy in SAC'd rules, as I suspected, since Mike just copied Frenzy and modified them for IDP's and other minor differences.
But I agree with Mike also, we should go with the flavor of normal bidding and stop the clock at midnight of day before games are played.
