Kick Return TDs - PASSES - 9 Yes / 0 No

My question is related to the punt return TD that DeSean Jackson scored this weekend: I noticed that it was not accounted for in the scoring app. Since this is a 'player-based' league (eg. we do not play team defenses) then I would assume that like an Interception of Fumble return TD, a Punt Return TD would be credited to the player. However, after reviewing the rules it is unclear to me how kick return TDs are scored as it is never specifically mentioned:

Under 'OFFENSE' it mentions 'All other offensive TDs (ex. Fumbles.)' are 6 pts.. and then under 'DEFENSE' it mentions 'Fumble / Interception / blocked Field Goal / blocked Punt'.. but never address kick return TDs...

We don't count special teams stats..don't even think fumbles/tackles on special teams count....

For some reason I thought TD's did count for the individual player but I am probably mistaken.

Are you sure? I think that Special Team tackles just show up in the NFL stats along with all other tackles..

That is correct as David Akers got credit for a tackle (on a kickoff return I think) last week.

OK, maybe tackles do count on special teams. We don't score points for kickoff or punt return TD's though. I verified that in the scoring setup.

Really? Ok... but that is a shame! And it also seems like a major over-sight on such a detailed stat and scoring, player-oriented league... especially when you consider that every other type of stat is accounted for (rush attempts, passes defended, etc) and not a special teams Touchdown?! Thats just full

In any case, I'd definitely like to put that on the table as a rule change going into next year. At the very least it would another management dynamic to staffing a team and choosing WRs / RBs and even DBs.

I have no issues with putting that on the table to be disussed and voted on next year. Would be an easy change to make.

Sounds good to me as long as return yardage is not added. BLAH.

I agree.. return yardage would really through things out of wack, but return TDs seems like it would be easy and are such a game-changing events that they should be accounted for (the Reggie Bush owner can chime in now)..

I did.

Still agree return yardage shouldn't count but I can live with it.

Frank or Hans, would either one of you like to word this how you feel it should be voted on and we can put it out there for a vote?

Maybe something like

"All other TDs not otherwise accounted for such as Punt or KO Return TDs will be credited to the player scoring the TD"
