Thursday March 24th at 11:59pm- 2016 RFA Declarations are Due

Thursday March 31st at 11:59pm - 2015 Soft Cap Period Ends
Friday April 1st at 12:00am - 2016 Hard Cap Period Begins & 4th year Taxi Squad members rollover to Active Squad.

Monday April 4th at 12:00am- 2016 RFA Bidding Opens
Saturday April 30th at 11:59pm - 2016 RFA Bidding Closes

Monday May 9th at 12:00am (the 2nd Monday in May each year) - 2016 Rookie Draft Begins

Wednesday June 1st at 12:00am - this date will also be somewhat flexible in that as it would not open until 48 hours after the rookie draft has been completed - Opening of the 2016 UFA period

Monday August 29th at 12:00am - Opening of 2016 Injured Reserve

Monday August 29th at 11:59pm - End off Off-Season Free Agency - Contract Years Declarations Due, Rookies and UFA's must be declared for Taxi/PS/Active Roster squads, Minimum roster requirements must be met.

Tuesday August 29th at 12:00am - Start of In-Season Free Agency

Monday October 31st at 11:59pm - End of Hard Cap Period

Tuesday November 1st at 12:00am - Start of Soft Cap Period

Wednesday November 23rd at 11:59pm - Wednesday prior to week 12 games - Frenzy Trade Deadline

I'm going to have similar issues with the rookie draft in May. I'm on a river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam from May 12th through May 27th.

Actually... I think we actually DO go to the end of the month, not just the Monday after the 3rd week of preseason games. At least, that's what we did last week. The 31st fell on a Tuesday.

Just going by the rules, which states the day after last preseason game of 3rd week. Either way, but I guess we should change the wording in the rules.

SO how long do we have to establish years when it opens? In other words is there a window to assign years and roster allocation? I also have a guy to IR and it appears I have to wait for that date to hit before I can assign IR...That is just crazy when surgery was performed...ah well...

How do you guys handle rookies that you do not offer contracts to? Just leave them off your assignment list? That appears to be how Heuerman was handled last year or year before with Denver and Killer Bee former owner....is that correct?

Chuck, you have to assign contracts to your RFA's, UFA's and Rookies before the Deadline. The IR opens immediately after this deadline. So you have to have room on your active/TS squads prior to moving players to IR.

If you have rookies you do not wish to keep, you can just cut them in separate thread, and note this in your declarations. This is the preferred way - But yes, if you leave them off your declarations, then they will be considered cut.

That's incorrect, IR opens 24 hours BEFORE (note 12:00am opening) the deadline for declarations is 11:59pm at the end of that same day. This allows you to make assignments to the IR BEFORE your final roster declarations are required.

Actually Jim, the Chunky Chicken Chunks are correct, the off-season ends and roster declarations are due the Monday following the 3rd pre-season game each season.

Last year the 31st just happened to fall on the Monday after the 3rd pre-season game by co-incidence.

For the 2016 season that date falls on Monday August 29th.

You can make declarations anytime in advance and modify if necessary. As for IR you can proxy that IMO within your roster declarations. As long as the player is Questionable or Worse I think it's reasonable that we allow it to go through, especially if you will be travelling without access.

If they're not offered a contract (i.e. PS, TS or Active declaration) they become instant UFA's. No need for a separate cut.

I've updated rosters to reflect roster declarations for the 9 teams who have submitted thus far. If you make any changes prior to the deadline, please bump your original post with the change detailed so we'll know to edit your original declarations.
