Okay, this is the second time I tried to convince myself to make this pick. Don't like or dislike him but figure that this is essentially the end of the second round (pick 23) so to get a first round WR seems to be worth it.

Dang it, I keep throwing up in my mouth. I better hit submit before I change my mind again...

I tried moving up to take him as the last of the 1st rd WR's. Not sure if it's sayng much, as I hate Vick, but at the same time, Atlanta desperatly needs WR's... Roddy could be the guy, or he could suffer like all the others have with Vick's errant throws.

At pick 23 though, who cares, worth the gamble.

I agree, though it is a little sad that we are in the middle of the second round this what we are left with. I would really like to have some discussion about the number of compensatory picks out there, but maybe we should save that for another day (or thread).

Got to watch this guy play, too... when UH hosted UAB in a bowl game. He played very well. Will probably need a while to develop, but could be a very nice pick up.

As far as compensatory picks... I think if we increase the RFA tags like we've suggested, that will go a long way in getting us back to a "normal" draft schedule. It seems that pretty much anything after the first round is purely developmental squad fodder... so why not take a chance!?

This year's draft class, yes. Last year's draft class, no.

Almost 3x the amount of talent in last year's rookies compared to this year's.

I think last year's 1st round talent was much deeper. The 2nd round talent is pretty comparable to last year, but the 3rd round talent (and beyond) is much better this year.

That's pretty much how I see it, this years 1st rd wasn't nearly as deep in terms of stud quality, but the 20-40 range has some real nice talent.
