Welcome Marlin. There aren't many cover-2 CBs in the league - here's to hoping Marlin is one of the best!

not so sure about that. colts will probably use him more as a cornerback than a safety. your top 5 rookie db's will probably all be safeties just because of the sheer number of tackles they'll rack up. plus he has some other young talent to contend with at cb and s in jason david, nick harper, mike doss, bob sanders, idrees bashir, cory bird, joseph jefferson, von hutchins, and gerome sapp. that's a lot of young competition to compete with this year. don't get me wrong, he will see some valuable minutes this season (although most of them more than likely on special teams). he's a good prospect but i just don't see much from marlin this season.

I didn't draft Marlin to start this year. I doubt he will make it off of my development squad. As opposed to most CBs, I think Marlin's production will increase over time. A cover-2 corner is valuable and rare in this scoring system (as evidenced by Ronde Barber's 2nd place finish among CBs last year in Mike's sample scoring breakdown) - much more valuable than a safety in a cover-2 system. I have him rated higher than Rolle and Pac-Man for that reason - in a cover-2, Jackson's numbers should increase as he improves over the year's and is asked to provide run support instead of the safeties who are busy covering receivers down field. As Rolle and Pac-Man develop into shut-down corners in a regular system, I expect their numbers to decrease because of their lack of involvement in run defense.

Then again, what do I know about IDP!

Your kidding yourself, though, if you really think Marlin isn't instantly the Colt's best corner.

too much work ahead of him to jump to this conclusion imo. but please continue to think that way and plug him into your active roster from the get go if your so confident.
