3.06 LB Shawne Merriman SD

A bit of a risk-reward prospect, but at 3.06, I just couldn't pass up the potential for next season. He'll probably see some time on special teams and as a situational pass rusher this season, but hopefully Wade Phillips can develop him quickly.

Probably because I've been watching ESPN and the NFL Network non-stop since the draft...the lingo is rubbing off.

A #12 overall pick that is a mountain of a rush linebacker. Probably the most mature player in the entire draft, responsible for supporting his mother and siblings since he was 12. Merriman is going to be very, very good.

Did a coat drive for 2 or 3 years while at Maryland since he was often without a coat as a kid. Seems to be a high character player!
