I was willing to go pretty high but to be honest I was looking more towards the future figuring (he won't pull a Kitna) he will be a FA and will be a starter somewhere next year. Joe are you hoping to use him as supplemental pick fodder?

Yah, I was surprised, too, to see only 1 year. He's going to be starting somewhere next year... and even 1100 is a great price for a starting NFL RB. But then again, I haven't even won a championship yet in this league, so what do I know!?!?

I'm not sold on him being a starter yet. There is only a limited number of starting jobs in the NFL. Exclude the teams that have either a good starter, or a good prospect, how many teams are left? Now LaMont wants his money, so how many of those teams have the room to sign a big free agent? I would imagine most would be content to spend a somewhat early round pick on a guy with possibly as much talent, and be younger and cheaper. If I was a GM, that's what I'd do anyway. You just rarely see big name free agent RBs switch teams and be successful.

Your point about limited opportunities is a good one but I would think a couple of teams may need to make a FA move (rather than the draft). The Dolphins would seem like the most likely candidate (do they have any early picks next year). There are also a few teams with decent players but if Jordan might be enough of an upgrade to make it worth their while.

At the moment I have tons of cap space and nothing to really spend it on. I am looking towards the future with Jordan. He's a UFA and if he gets in the right situation I'll be very happy. The Raiders were rumored to be interested, they're looking for a full time back. Miami, Dallas and a number of other teams seem to have that need as well. Mike pushed me to sign Moulds, and asked why didnt push harder for Moulds since I have cap room left. Well the reason is my team needs RBs in the worst way. I have Moss and Plax signed for next year so I feel comfortable with that. I need to hit on some RBs now. I'm hoping Jordan can turn into Thomas Jones from last year. I figure by the time we have to declare RFAs next year I'll have a good idea whether Jordan will be worth keeping or not. Truth be told I think Moulds is better supplemental pick fodder than Jordan, I'm trying to hit the home run and get a starting RB next year. Who knows, but its better than what I got now.
