Question: Franchise to RFA
Regarding franchising players…
I assume they are just franchised for 1 year, but if I franchise a player this year, can I RFA them next year?

Anyone know what we do in this situation? I couldn’t find anything about it in the rules, which leads me to believe you could franchise a player, then RFA them the next year, just like any player with 1 year left on their contract.

yes correct, i don't believe there is any issue taking a previous franchise player and making them an RFA.
