9B: 3, 5, and 6 state that if an acquisition puts a squad over the roster spot, salary, or roster year limits, the manager has a 24 hour grace period to make appropriate adjustments to get below limits.
I would like to propose, without any hard feelings about Juaun Jennings , that the 24 hour grace period not begin until an administrator posts that a manager has won the bidding on a player. My reasoning is that it can be tough to keep up with the timing and bids and especially for a team that’s trying to rebuild, there’s a lot of roster juggling to make it through the season. Seeing that SOLD notification is helpful to know you need to go make a roster move. |

Understand the frustration being a fairly new owner in this complex league.
I am not sure how many admins we have on Preds boards - I believe just myself, Pat and Jim, and I think David was just added as an admin. And really, Pat and I do most of the updates on sold players (Really appreciate the assists Pat). It's sometimes tough to keep up with all the activity going on here, and so sometimes its a few days after a player has sold before we get a change to update the thread. We have always been of the mind, that MFL, Preds boards, and the App are tools to help the owner manage their team, but ultimate responsibility lands on the owner to make sure all is good. I know a lot of you rely solely on the App to keep track, but you take the risk of being out of compliance if we miss something, even though Pat is a superstar in his updates. Anyways, that is my opinion. I would be ok stopping the clock on this, like we do with the bidding, but not sure how much that would help. Siri and Alexa are great at providing reminder ;-) Also, I have seen where people has entered a bid they think should win, and also add a comment at same time, stating "If I win this player, I will be cutting so-and-so' - thus eliminating that issue.

I really, truly am not frustrated about Jennings. I honestly was trying to bid him up a little and was happy to get him if I won, but was also ok not to get him. It was just that I didn’t notice that I won until the SOLD posting and I followed up quickly after that, but it was too late.
I didn’t realize you could post a conditional cut, otherwise I absolutely would have done that, and will do that next time, as my cut was definitely going to be Daniel Jones. I still think the rule change makes sense, but I’m ok if not everyone agrees. |

Life gets in the way, and putting it on admins to updated the thread is too much to ask imo.
Now it does seem like it's usually a few hours that get people on this. What if we extend the grace period to 36 hours? Or by end of day (ET) on day grace period ends - for example, bid won at 6pm on the 1st so winner has until 11:59pm ET on the 2nd to make any moves. |

I like this "end of day" idea!!... knowing we have until the end of day is very helpful. That is often why I bid late at night, I know I won't be able to get back to it during the day because of work/life.

I think an “end of day” rule could work. That way, you just have to make sure you are checking it at least once a day, regardless of the time.

Actually... I haven't ever posted SOLD status on SAC'D players, since I'm relatively new to this league. But if you want, Burt, I'm happy to make posts when I see them.

I'd be against "end of day" as it's too ambiguous. Which day, in which time zone? What if you are travelling or live in a different time zone from most others?
As someone who just lost a player because my cut came 4 hrs late....24 hrs is usually plenty, sure 36 could be good too. Sometimes life gets in the way, so i'm not sure a change to the timeline would prevent future screw ups. Most of the time we are all able to keep our rosters in order. |

It's all good Jim - I just know you have Admin privs, but not expecting you to start updating SAC'd.

I also like End Of Day on day it sold - still leaves responsibility on owner, but gives some leeway for those who have weird schedules or live in foreign countries ;-)

Might make it easier for admins too. Easy to see when time has passed and not have to be double checking everything.

Ok fair enough. I can live with 23:59 deadlines. Just have to remember to check over my lunch here.
