Question re: Rookies Do they count against the DS or active caps in the off-season?

OK, question for you Mike. Since you're biding over what you have available for your active squad, I assume you're bidding to place him on your D.S. But, you have three draft picks slated for the D.S. Since our rules are not real specific in this area, if you win the bid, do you get to place four players on your D.S. until our deadline to assign contract years, or will you have to move one of your draft picks up to your active squad immediately? And if you do that, can you still cut that draft pick for no penalty even though he was in an active squad roster spot?

I'm not nitpicking, I'm just trying to figure out how all the subtleties work.

Draft picks aren't on either the active roster or the DS until declared. They're pretty much in limbo right now, and can remain that way up until August 15.

I have them listed on the DS section of the cap app as a matter of simplicity for now, didn't know where else to put them.

I got it. So I assume that would go for a team with four draft picks, you could hold them all til 8/15. And if you have a full D.S., you could make all your draft picks and hold them til 8/15 as well. OK, now I got it.
