In an effort to clean up their image, BDSC management felt it was necessary to purge the roster of malcontents. WR David Boston was known for his eccentric behavior that ruffled many teammates. Although immensely talented, BDSC felt the costs outweighed the benefits. Also by releasing Boston BDSC freed up more cap space in an effort to retain both Ricky Williams and Shaun Alexander.
