I think we had this conversation and decided that we couldn't during RFA. I'd have to find it. No true market value was set since bidding was never initiated and RFA is still open

Additional note... Claims continue current player contract (years). An RFA player is not truly under contract (no years declared), so no contract to continue.

Yeah, but we allow claims in off-season FA if a player is dropped prior to year declarations (automatically assigned 1 year). I cannot find anything in rules or forums about this but I'm pretty sure this has happened in the past. Maybe someone else remembers?

Commish - claims alllowed? either way we should vote or get this in the rules one way or another.

Seems illogical to allow - I would agree with David on his assessment

I sat for now, no claim allowed. But let’s eventually put this topic to a vote for perpetuity. I would actually lean toward saying yes, ANYTIME someone is cut a claim can be made (a team would have to release another tagged RFA that had yet to be put in play).

I would agree with that proposal, if you claim a cut RFA, it becomes your RFA, so if you already have 3 youd have to cut one.

OK, I can see this, that it just becomes your RFA, not a rostered player at the starting RFA price...that makes more sense

Pretty sure we had past precedent and Commish declared no claims allowed (which I personally would agree with).

I would be good either way. Either:
1) Do not allow an RFA to be claimed
or
2) Allow a claim to substitute for an existing RFA that has not been bid on (but remember that if you claim a player, his salary would count against your roster and if you already have 3 RFAs the player you are removing would be a 'Cut" and salary penalty would apply).

I would not be on board for allowing an RFA claim moved to a roster.
