1.12 RB Devin "Motor" Singletary, BUF

pick if you wish, tell me I could have taken him much later, call him too small at 5' 7", mock him for his 40 time at the combine. Doesn't matter. Look at his production. 66 TD's, 4,289 yards rushing (#1 in FAU history exceeding Alfred Morris by 750 yards), and the 4 highest single game rushing performances in FAU history.

This kid has a motor that never ends, thus his knickname. He's non-stop, never gives up, and makes guys miss (ranked 2nd in the country in missed tackles and also 2nd overall in breakaway yards in 2017 by Pro Football Focus). He rarely goes down with the first tackle, has shifty feet, and an instant acceleration after short-area cuts.

While we were targeting Mecole Hardman with this pick, and hoping to steal Devin at 2.04, we'll gladly bring Devin in to the Preds here at 1.12 and give him a year on the TS to learn from LeSean McCoy who many have compared Devin's skillset to. A year with future HOF'er Frank Gore can't hurt either. With McCoy and Gore being in the last year of their deals, there is a great opportunity for Devin to become the lead back in 2020, if not sooner.

BTW: The Pirates have 2.03 and we were targeting him at that spot. So it's back to the draft board for us!!!

Yeah, I edited the typo, meant 2.04.

Guess it worked out well taking him earlier than I had wanted! I woulda been so pissed to lose my targets twice in a row 1 pick before mine!
