Card Cuts need update...
I am curious why my cuts did not show up AND those two players got raises for the new season??? This is kind of important because it affects my cap space to maybe bids on RFAs....Can someone let me know if this is going to be corrected....

The quickest way to see where you stand is to use the April 1, 2014 Frenzy roster app file located in The Frenzy Chat folder (1st folder listed - it's a sticky). Patrick even has your updated salary situation listed with RFA tenders included!!!
I'll enclose a link: http://www.predsff.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23317

Emerald (John)...Thanks a bunch! That app looks pretty sweet and had all the info I needed...
I do have another question...what is the deal with Ponder and Weeden moving automatically to my active roster? I figure it is because they can NO longer be on the Taxi or Practice Squad based on time in the league. NOW, how much am I gonna be cracked when I cut them and does it matter now when I cut them???? Thanks!!! |

Sorry Chuck, I thought we talked about this. I must have missed it. Taxi squad players can only be left on TS for their first three years. After that you either cut them or activate them. practice squad players can remain their entire contract.
I think we should cut the newbie some slack and allow penalty free cut

Well,
We did discuss the fact that they have to come off the taxi squad, but I didn't know they automatically went to the active roster and would have cost me cap room. I had planned to keep the NYJ QB and the NOS WR and cut the others. I don't mind taking the hit if that is the right thing. Ponder, Weeden, and Nassib will be toast eventually. Maybe this is my bad. Just let me know when I can cut them and what it will cost me in cap space penalties. You have been more than helpful Burt...just like the others... |

Brandon Weeden was made active by your previous owner on Sept 5th last year:
http://www.predsff.com/forums/showth...ghlight=Weeden Which made his contract guaranteed. So you would have to take the full penalty on him to cut him now. Since we are now in Hard Cap period, his penalty would be 73cb, all of it applied to 2014 cap. Ponder would cost you 144cb to cut now, all of it also applied to 2014 cap. The spreadsheet also shows this. Look at the last column after the players name. You can also calculate this on your own by taking 20% of the 1st years salary. Then you take 10% of each subsequent years salary (which is current year salary, plus 10%) So take a player with 100cb salary for 3 years. 1st year salary 100cb - penalty 20cb 2nd year salary 110cb - penalty 11cb 3rd year salary 121cb - penalty 12cb TOT penalty = 43cb

That is too funny...every time I brought up the Roster App, it was a small window and I never expanded it to SEE the last column with the cap hit for cuts. This app is even sweeter than I thought. Got it and those cats will still be bleeding from the cuts on opening day....Thanks for all the great info...
