Division rivals swing big trade just days prior to their week 1 rematch! (*done*)
September 26, 2012 - BUFFALO
Two Eastern Division rivals paired up in an unexpected deal this evening. The Parkwood Predators and Minnesota Mosquitoes ignored the unwritten rule of trading within the division by swinging a huge deal involving 4 players and 2 high draft picks. This deal happens just days prior to the two teams playing head to head in a rematch of week 1 where the Mosquitoes came out on top. The deal solidifies both teams at a position of need with the Mosquitoes picking up a stud RB and the Predators picking up a local boy to supplement their WR corps. Think the involved players may just have something to say about this deal when they meet up head to head this weekend? ![]() Below are the terms on the trade: Heading to Minnesota are: RB Jamaal Charles 1203/1 TS WR Greg Little 297/4 & the Predators 2013 2nd Round Rookie Draft Pick Heading to Parkwood are: WR Stevie Johnson 1183/4 TS WR Vincent Brown 220/4 & the Mosquitoes 2013 1st Round Rookie Draft Pick Mosquitoes will confirm

Upon confirmation of the trade, the Predators will assign WR Vincent Brown directly to our Taxi Squad (as he comes over from the Mosquitoes TS).

Minnesota Confirms.
Very nice write up Mike. Yes, I was a bit hesitant to give you players before the matchup but I like the deal so I couldn't pass it up. It will be interesting to see if this move affects the final outcome. Also, Greg Little will go from the Preds TS and be assigned to my TS. |

I gave up a very good RB, but am hopeful the other 4 RB's I have will be able to chug along with respectable, consistent #'s. Stevie gives me a solid, consistent WR with occasional big games. I view him as a Predator for the rest of this year and the next. The length of his contract was my biggest hesitation. I wish he only had a 2 year deal as I hate long term deals on big contracts. I don't think Stevie will be worth his cap hit for years 3+4. I made this deal because I really like Stevie as a player/person. He's great in the community and easy to root for. Plus it gives me a reason to tune into the Bills, who I otherwise don't really care much about. I've also been specifically focusing on building a strong WR corps as I believe they are key to winning longterm in today's Fantasy Football. Time will tell as to whether or not I'm right to accentuate the WR position over RB's. I do think this is a deal that strengthens both teams and should be good for both of us. Charles gives you a legit RB to pair up with McFadden, even over Freddie Jackson who is going to lose significant carries when he returns from injury with the emergence of Spiller. You got the best player in the deal, which usually leads to winning a trade, but I think this trade will balance out pretty equally in the end.
