The rules allow for TS elligible Players who are cut & claimed to go on their new team's TS.

Since when can you claim a rookie draft pick? My understanding is that unsigned rookies become FAs

From Rules:

If a rookie is not declared active or TS/DS by the end of the free agency period, he will become a free agent available to open bidding.

If we are now allowing claims of unsigned rookie, then according to the rules they must somehow be assigned a contract per Waiver rule:

During this period, each team will have the opportunity to claim the waived player and assume his current contract without the player reaching Free Agency.

Thus a cut player would receive a default 1 year contract. So in this case Osweiler would be claimed at 1yr/130cbs, correct?

That would make sense Pat...we always assume 1 year default for unsigned cuts...

in that case, no sense in claiming a guy for one year to clog up my roster. sp then no claim. hes only worth it if he can sit on a TS, or PS for at least 4 years
