Default Revised Rules Observations

After reading through the Rules Forum Votes and updates I have 2 ...

1) A team is able to carry less than 5 total TE,K,Def (Blue area on roster app) as long as he has no more than 13 QB,RB and WR on his active roster with total above and below blue area at least 13 and no more than 18.

2) There are 4 acceptable starting line ups (Rule book only lists 1st 2):

QB,2RB,3WR,TE,K,Def
QB,2RB,2WR,2TE,K,Def
QB,1RB,4WR,TE,K,Def
QB,1RB,3WR,2TE,K,Def

I have a question:

when you cut a player with multiple years left his contract, the cap hit is 0.2 * current year salary + 0.1 * (sum of remaining years salary), correct? If so, is the entire cap hit incurred in the current year?

The MFL site seems to take only the 0.2 * current salary into consideration for the current year. The Frenzy app, on the other hand, seems to suggest that the full amount is incurred in the current year.

correct, the site only shows the cap hit for the current year at .2, a note is made into the site to add the remaining cap hit for additional years.

You are correct...20% for current year, 10% for each subsequent years on the contract. There are two periods during the year - Hard Cap period and Soft Cap period...we are currently in Hard Cap period, so the entire penalty is applied to this years cap. During Soft Cap period, the penalty is split between this year and next.

MFL does not handle our complete set of rules, and can only handle the 20% penalty for current year. So someone has to manually go in and add in the multi year penalties - I think Dale has volunteered to do that, but Jim might still be handling it. If you see any descrepancies, please post those in the forums...MFL and APP should match up with your own personal team records.

Make sense?

I have not been handling the multi-year penalties... so if Dale can do that, great. HOWEVER, it has been policy in the past that the ROSTER APP is the primary document used for accurate roster cap summary. The website, while we try to keep it basically current, isn't the primary document. Make sense?

Also... I need to reiterate that it's the responsibility of every individual owner to keep his/her own current roster cap/salary status. There is no "I didn't have a current app" excuse allowed in this league. That being said, we will endeavor to keep the app up a lot better than last season!

Sorry Jim...I assumed Frenzy was done like SAC'd - sounds good to me...I prefer to have both in sync, but that's just me...I rely on my own sheet to make my moves..I can train Dale who was willing to keep MFL up to date...seems to me it makes sense to have only one person in MFL creating the transactions, so as Commish, totally your call....

Actually, I haven't been the one to keep the MFL site in the past... so I didn't know the part about multiple year contracts. So if someone teaches me, I can get it done. Or I can hand it off to someone else to do (Dale!). I'm TOTALLY FINE with that!

If we can have both in sync, that would be awesome... I'm just going on how things have been in the recent past. Never rely on the websites... everyone keep their own app current!

But hey, there's always room for improvement, right!?!

Bump...I'm bumping this to remind everyone that there are 4 acceptable starting line ups in Frenzy (see 1st post on this topic). The revision passed by 9-2 vote in 2007.
I thought revisiting this might be helpful while we are UFA bidding.
