Ok, i'm kinda confused by how the weekend bids work. If I posted my bid friday, when would it sell? Would it still count towards the 24 hours? Or since its the weekend does it extend to the 48 hours? I thought weekend bids did not sell till the following Monday.

Anyway, Bulger to DS assign 5 yrs(if its not too late that is).

Since Mike's not doing so well today, following the loss of McNabb in his money league... let me be the one to point the rule book out:

Off-season FA bidding had the 48-hour rule...
In-season FA bidding has the 24 hour rule through Saturday... so if a player clears on Saturday, I assume you still have the 24 hours to make contract years and cuts, if necessary. Bids don't count again until Tuesday, but I'm guessing roster cuts still need to be made. Here's the citation:

When a bid is submitted, it will be subject to a 24 hour "challenge period" during which time other teams may make counter-bids. This period begins at the time of each bid or subsequent bid. The exception to this is Saturday bids. Since bidding is suspended from Saturday until Tuesday, bids made before 12pm Saturday will not be final until 12pm Tuesday. If no higher bid is received within the challenge period, the bid is a winner and the transaction will take place.
Teams must also responsibly manage their 16 roster slots. Teams will not be permitted to exceed 16 players at any time. Any acquisition that places you over the 16 man roster limit without a move to get back to 16 or below will be placed in "pending" status for no longer than 24 hours. Teams will have a 24 hour grace period from the time of the acquisition that places them over 16 to get back down to 16 or fewer on the roster before penalties start to kick in. If a move isn't made within the 24 hour grace period the player will be released, and the team will be assessed a penalty equal to 25% of the contract(s) in question (with a minimum penalty of 250cb's and a max of 500cb's) IN ADDITION to the 20% cap release penalty. Further the team will no longer be able to bid on the player(s) that are released as a result of the infraction.
Owners will be responsible for tracking bid status. Keep in mind, the forum board will list current bids on top and older bids towards the bottom. Threads will be closed 24 hours after a bid is won.

Deja-vu - we've been through this before...

During the season, Friday bids close on SATURDAY... Saturday/Sunday/Monday bids close on Tuesday.

You have 24 hours from the time a bid is closed/won to make the necessary roster space or cap room.

This bid sold Saturday, meaning Joe had until Sunday to declare years and make a move, which he failed to do, so unfortunately he again gets hit with the 20% penalty and cannot rebid on this player for 30 days.

Sorry Joe, really.

The moral of the story... if you make a bid on Friday, make damn sure you check it on Saturday.
