Just a reminder

1st round tenders = 4 points

2nd round tenders = 3 points

3rd round tenders = 2 points

4th round tenders = 1 point

The points for all declined players, added up, would get the following compensation levels:

8 points = 1st round comp

4 points = 2nd round comp

2 points = 3rd round comp

1 point = 4th round comp

The following teams have earned the right for compensatory picks in the 2009 draft. I'm listing the points earned and the picks awarded. The "tie breaker" was the total tendered amount by the

NOTE: Any owner can substitute lower rounds for an upper round pick, should they desire (ie. 2 points earns one 3rd round pick... or the owner could choose to drop it down to a 4th round pick, and thus be PS eligible).

FREEDOM (8 points) - 1st round pick (1.13)
SCORPIONS (7 points... 3400 total tendered amount) - 2nd round pick (2.13) & 3rd round pick (3.13)
MUTTS (6 points... 2100 total tendered amount) - 2nd round pick (2.14) & 3rd round pick (3.14)
INSECTS (4 points... 1800 total tendered amount) - 2nd round pick (2.15)
LLAMAS (2 points... 400 total tendered amount) - 3rd round pick (3.15)

If any of the above owners would like to drop down a round (or more), please indicate by replying to this thread.

do you only get 2 max picks, as a 2nd and 3rd only add up to 6 points?

I think you should probably be entitled to another pick (a fourth).

I was wondering about that, myself... but as I researched the old threads, I somehow got the impression that if you only lost 2 players, you should only get 2 picks. Am I wrong in this (either way, doesn't really matter to me!).

I think we determined that the players you lose generate the points that can be turned into points without regards for how many players lost versus picks gained. I don't remember but I think you get to use all of your points and the number of picks awarded is not capped. If I missed something let me know.

Whatever the group thinks is fair is fine with me. However, when I was rereading the discussion thread, I remember you saying you thought it would be great if people could use their points for whatever assortment of picks they wanted... yet that's not what was decided upon. Again, I don't have a specific reference post... but that was what I discerned from reading.

I thought what I was advocating was that someone could take their 8 points and select 8 fourth round comp picks. If that is too much like what is being discussed here then I am fine with having to leave points on the table.

Again, either way... the question is... can a team gain more picks than the number of RFA players they lost? If no, then people might have "extra points" they can't use. If yes, then all points can be used.

As the commish is that your decision or do we need to put it to a vote? To clarify I don't care one way or the other and I am fine with you making the call or voting!

Actually, a vote might take too long. Who's on the "Executive Committee" these days? Maybe those of us in that group can come to a decision.

(I guess I should know who's on the executive committee, shouldn't I!?!)

Maybe since both SAC'd and Frenzy implemented these rules at same time, just go with what we are doing in SAC'd..you get as many comp picks as your points allow..
