1.12 WR Jerome Simpson CIN

This pick was so hard to make. Tried desperately to trade down and hopefully pick up two 2nd rounders as I wanted to maximize my chances with the grab bag of WRs, but like myself everyone else saw the talent level for the next round to be fairly even.

Don't like spending high picks on IDPs and no QB, RB (want to draft midgets?), or TE was worthy to be a 1st round pick. So that leaves me with the grab bag of WRs.

Why Simpson?

Simpson has off the wall atheltic ability and physical talents (4.4-speed, 40+ vertical, o-line sized hands (10" 3/8), and long arms) to become a deadly redzone target.

Situation - One of the best passers in the game in Palmer. A questionable WRs corps - Chris Henry gone. Chad Johnson crying. TJ will be a FA next year. Not much else.

Bengals history with WRs - Chad Johnson was a 2nd round pick. TJ was a 7th round pick. Chris Henry was a 3rd round pick. All are very good WRs. So the coaching staff/scouts know what they want at this position and they know how to polish these guys. Also he was selected ahead of some highly touted and decorated WRs.

So yah here is my reluctant 1.12 pick.
