Some had him as a top 3 TE heading into the draft and he seemed to make a good impression at the team's first formal camp (whatever they call those initial practices). The Chargers know how to use the TE and with LJ Smith's contract expiring at the end of the year a young TE seems like as good a pick as any this late in the draft.
