Fixed on the MFL site, Frank can take care of the app if it needs fixing.

App is up dated to the sale of Ronald Curry.

Hopefully it's not corrupt anymore.

On MFL I am showing what I think are two errorenous transactions:

$37 Dropped Wilkinson, Gerris NYG LB Sat Sep 2 5:09:32 p.m. ET 2006
$40 Dropped Thorpe, Craphonso FA WR Sat Sep 2 9:55:27 p.m. ET 2006

I don't think there should be a penalty for Wilkinson since he was never supposed to go active. For Thorpe he was dropped from the PS/Taxi roster so I did not think we had penalties for that. Can someone let me know so I can make sure that my spreadsheet is up to date.

Thanks!

Sorry Matt.

I had accidentally clicked Wilkinson instead of Thorpe when processing the cut, and later corrected it.

I did however, forget to fix the penalties. I'll do that now.

Frank,

You missed my placing RB William Green on IR.

http://predsff.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9711

Also, the Taxi Status colum for rookie TE Vernon Davis should read "2006 wk1" not "ineligable." You may want to check on other promoted TS players to make sure they have the correct designation as well.

Also, keep any TS eligible promoted player in green
so they stand out (I think you did this, but not sure if it's that way accross the board).

Just wondering but why should Vernon Davis be TS eligible? He was promoted straight to active squad, despite what you declared at that moment. If he was promoted from the taxi squad then there should be room for him but there isn't as both years and slots are maxed out.

I say that b/c the timing goes...

1. Squad declarations - everyone must fit on TS

2. Then promoted to active squad

However, since there are not slots for Davis or his 5 years then he never could really fit on the TS. In the manner that you're thinking about you're getting a free TS roster spot.

That's why when I orgininally did the app any rookie on the AS who could not fit on the TS were treated as promoted straight to AS in which case they would lose taxi eligibility. Only TE Vernon Davis, TE Tony Scheffler (whos on my team) and DB Jimmy Williams were the only rookies on the AS.

DB Jimmy Williams maintains TS eligibility b/c there is still room for him on the TS AFTER the timing of TS to AS promotion.

As I recall it, all rookies are TS eligible for the length of their initial rookie contract, as long as they're never cut then resigned.

It doesn't matter if they start on the TS or not.

Brian can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is how we set it up.

That is my understanding as well

Quote:
Each team will be allowed a 8 player Taxi Squad for players with 0-3 years of NFL experience (Players entering their 4th NFL season are NOT eligible for the Taxi Squad). There is no Cyber Buck (cb) cap to the Taxi Squad, but there is a 32 year contract cap. Taxi Squad cb and contract year caps will not count against a team's regular cap unless a player is activated to the active roster.

Then what's the point of a yearly cap on teh TS if it's not meant to limit TS eligbility/years?

DOesn't make sense b/c right now you have over 32 eligible TS years if Davis is accounted for.

Are you saying Mike has more then 32 years on the TS currently? That sounds like it is an issue and someone needs to be moved/cut. Of course, if I am misunderstanding something please let me know. Thanks!

Not currently it's just an eligibilty issue.

On declaration day Vernon Davis was assigned TS but promoted to AS.

Which is all fine and dandy but w/o counting Vernon Davis, Preds already have 32 contract years w/ TS eligibility (Those on his taxi squad). If you want to count VD as taxi eligibile that would be 37 taxi eligible contract years, which is over for this year.

I bring this point up b/c next season since most TS will be full... everyone could post their rookies as TS and the same day promote them and they'd get that extra advantage of TS elgibilty.

My point being from a timing stand point... Vernon Davis had to have fit on the TS this year in order to maintain TS eligibilty and currently he does not (No slots or years), meaning he was never on the taxi sqaud to begin with.

Not all rookies are TS eligible.. they have to BE ON THE TAXI SQUAD to begin with.

We've been through this before if I recall correctly.

ALL rookies are TS eligible, whether promoted active immediatly or not, and regardless of contract years.

Then why have a taxi squad limit on years?

I guess I maybe making a fuss as you'd have to cut someone but it still seems a loophole to me.

Say next year my taxi sqaud is full as I don't promote any players, can I then just say my 5 rookies in 2007 are on the taxi squad and promote them to my active roster on declaration day and they'd have TS eligibility? Yes or no?

The Taxi Squad limit on years equates to an average of 4 years per player. I don't see where it's relavent to the discussion.

As for me having to cut someone, are you talking about? I haven't sent anyone down, but if I did choose to do so I could promote a TS player up, or make a cut. Again, I still don't see where years are relevant to the discussion here at all.

If I make a TS eligible rookie active Day 1, I not only have to count his years against the active roster, but also his salary. Further, while the player may be TS eligible, being active even 1 day now guarentees his rookie salary and makes the cap hit apply if the player is later released.

Frank, you've really lost me on this one, as I'm 99% certain we covered this last year, and came to the conclusion that I've stated, and Noah seems to recall as well, which is all drafted rookies are TS eligible whether active day one or not, until either their original rookie contract expires, or they are released and subsuquently signed as a UFA.

Anyhow, I'm not sure why you're so animated on this discussion, particularly since the odds that a player is demoted grow less each week their active anyway as the salary bump gets too steep and the contract is guarenteed.

ETA
- Yes, all of your rookies would be TS eligible next year, and if you made them all active, they'd all have guarenteed contracts from their on out, and be subject to your active roster contract years and salary cap while on the active roster.

Here's a link in the Frenzy where we discussed this... SACD would follow the same principle:

Question Re: 2006 Roster App & Draft Trackers

I know this is probably the wrong place to put this... But, I always get confused on who runs what.

On the SAC'D website... RB Adrian Peterson CHI was given Def. points. I saw in his box score on ESPN that he had a solo tackle. In SAC'D it shows a lot more.

Peterson, Adrian CHI RB
at Packers Sun 4:15 p.m. ET
2.00
1 Forced Fumbles

8.00
4 Tackles

2.00
2 Assists

12.00

Subtotal

Just seemed funky... I thought I would let you know.. Late.

Hmmm. My bet would be special teams tackles. Same with the forced fumble, the Bears forced and recovered a ST fumble last week.

I believe the stats are actually correct.

And before you ask, yes, players can score on all sides of the ball in SACD!

Adrian appears to be a ST madman!

ETA NFL.com has him with 3 tackles, 2 assists, and a forced fumble. http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/302105

MFL is generally more accurate than NFL.com when it comes to stats believe it or not.

Thanks Mike... I didn't think about ST's.. I couldn't find anything on the sites I was looking at, that is what caused my confusion. Thank god he is doing something, he ain't worth a shit at the RB position.

Frank,

Just a quick note... Bledsoe and Bruschi were both given 2 year deals. You have them down in the app as 1.

You put Vinatieri on IR, but also left him on the active roster.

Remove him from the active roster and I'm at 65 years.

The MFL site should be current for all of this weeks transactions (with the exception of Morris and Buckhalter who won't sell until tommorrow at the earliest).

Hopefully Frank can crank out a roster app update as well. There were a slew of moves this week!

Took 30 minutes, but the app is updated.

Please check to make sure I didn't miss anything. Thanks.
