2 potential New Owners - 1 team

OK, we have 2 potential owners for the Jawbone Hill Franchise.

In the blue corner, we have former CDL member Cheezy, a knowledgable, active owner familiar with cap leagues.

In the red corner, we have Jason, a lifelong friend of Nittany Dodgers owner Brian Giel, and per Brian, also a very knowledgable, active owner, who's currently attending Law School (hmmm, maybe we could leach official league counsel from him ).

I'm open to either, and truly am uncertain the best way to proceed. I've competed against Cheezy before, the dude is flat out a lot of fun, he's a witty, sarcastic, active, trash talking . I'd love him in my division for the smack talk alone...

however, I'm also a big proponent of teams bringing friends into leagues such as SACD, as it helps bring common bonds to the league and promotes longterm stability. Brian speaks highlly of Jason. I think highly enough of Brian that his word alone is enough for me.

Thus IMO we've got a 50/50 situation here, and I'd be happy with either one. Anyone have a suggestions on how they should battle it out to get JB Hill's squad?

Which ownership group is willing to pay more? Let's defray the cost for the existing owners...

Actually, I don't particularily care one way or the other as both options seem to be good based on the information provided. Is there some sort of test we could put them through?

BTW, when we were looking for owners in the past did we ever create a waiting list. Might not help here but in the future the first in type of thing might be the best way to settle these sort of issues. Thanks!

OK, in support of my man in the red corner, here's a little unauthorized bio of my friend Jason. I've known him since we were in high school. Our senior year, we started a FF league together with two of our friends (yes, we had 4 teams in our first season) which grew into a 10 team league that exists to this day (though neither of us are in it any more). Other than the initial year, he thoroughly dominated me, so he (after he shakes off the rust) will be a solid competitor.



He was recently married in January (and I was his best man), and is now in law school. His interest in dispute resolution would no doubt be an asset to the league (he’d probably have a better idea than me on how to solve this, actually).



I asked him previously if he was interested when we had openings in the Frenzy and SAC’D, but at the time he was hesitant as he didn’t think he’d have the time to devote he would need. He does nothing less than 100%. He does it all in, or he doesn’t do it at all. He would definitely be a dedicated, active, smack talking, involved owner.



On top of all that, he is quite possibly the most decent, honest, well intentioned person I have ever met, and he serves as an example for me to be a better person every day.

I am all for cheezy...i have been in leagues with him for many years and he is a lot of fun and loves to talk smack. he got the shaft when CDL closed down and we only had two openings in SACD (filled by doggs and smsmith).

Sorry Jason/ND I have to go with Cheezy as an ex league mate who didn't get the same lifeboat I got when CDL went belly up (Have I ever mentioned that I had the 1st, 3rd and 7th picks in the CDL rookie draft this year).

I feel like we would disappoint someone no matter what the result was, but that SACD would come out with a winner as an owner either way.

As consolation however, I'm 100% comfortable in placing Jason at #1 on a waiting list for either the Frenzy or SACD.

Allow me to chime in. First off, I'd love to join SAC'D. I was a member of CDL for the last 2 years, and made the Lizard Bowl both years, losing to Doggs and beating Preds. Well, beating is putting it lightly. Just scroll up to the hockey image underneath Mike's name. Last January, Mike was the Philadelphia Flyers dude. :evilking

So to be in the same division as those two would be freakin' cool. I know FF, I know caps, I am active, I trade, talk smack, am a good winner and loser, and definately participate.

That being said, a vote would be unfair. Forgive the broad assumption, but I'd bet that all the CDL guys would probably vote for me (Burt, Doggs, Skip, Smithy). Mike would have trouble deciding, understandably. Everyone else who has never been in a league with me has nothing to go on except how much they like/dislike Dodgers. That doesn't give Jason (Dodgers' friend) a fair shake IMO, as he doesn't know anyone except Dodgers.

Kinda like when ole George shut down Florida a few years back. I've learned that it's best not get into politics with Dodgers, though.

Ahh, I digress. I propose that Jason and I share ownership. Then one of us takes the next opening, whether that occurs this year, next, whatever. It will happen eventually. Always does. I don't mind making a new friend. Between the two of us, maybe there is one functioning brain.

Anyhow, I'm open to whatever you guys come up with.

You've won the rights to the Hill GB, if you want to share ownership that's cool, but not required.

You were both good choices, having played with you, I love the fact you'll be in my division with Doggs and Matt. Matt (Gunslingers), if you think the Frenzy East is tough, wait till you see the new division rivals you have in SACD. They are both top notch!

I'm disappointed for Brian, as I think he offered a credible canidate, but I came up with the most unbiased option I could, and as I stated previously, I think SACD comes out a winner either way.

IMO, the Hill are Cheezy's team now. If they share ownership until some future date, Jason would be the one to move on to the new team.

The first problem here is how you determined who was heads, and who was tails. Jason always chooses heads. ALWAYS. I'm filing an appeal.





Seriously though, no, I have no hard feelings, and yes I was being sarcastic (come on Mike, you should know by now).

Cheezy, it is stand up to offer joint ownership. I don't know if he'd be up for that or not. I told him he could join co-ownership of my team so he could get to know the league rules and whatnot at his leisure, and be ready to take over if/when there is another opening. I'll see what he says.

But it's all good. I'll just add Cheezy to my list of teams I love to hate, just for spite's sake.
