The insects have brought this issue back to the fore, and have reversed their previous no votes. As have the Opihi and Wonder Mutts apparently. Seeing as the prior poll was defeated in a close 7-5 margin, and 3 of those 7 no votes have changed their minds under the revised idea, I've reconstructed a new poll with new limitations for 2002.
Whats on the table right now, is to expand the rosters to 17 players immediately, with a minimal cap increase of 250 to 10,250. The catch is, teams are required to carry at least 1 backup among TE, K, and D (can be any of the 3), basically, teams must always carry at least 4 players among TE, K, and D. This would go into effect immediately. In 2003, the cap would expand to 10,500 cyberbucks. We can discuss whether to go to 18 man or not for 2003 and beyond at a later date (maybe require backups to all 3 poitions (TE, K, and D)? For now, lets try to get the immediate situation resloved. As always, speak your mind and vote your say...

I am very much against this rule change for this year. If this is something that everyone wants then we should discuss this for next year. If we change it for this year then I would have bid differently for certain players already sold. I feel this is a fairly major rule change that should only take place during the off season.

I'm in favor of it this year, as the 250 cyber bucks cap increase is so small, it can only be used to help get a "fourth" TE/K/D.
Not sure about the need to increase to 10,500 in '03... but 17 players, 10,250 should be fine. It just makes sense to me. |

I'd vote yes for next year, but no for this year. I don't like the idea of changing the rules after the process has already started. Yes, it might make minimal difference, but I don't like the precedent it sets to change free agency rules in the middle of the free agency period.

I'm against it in general, but I especially think no change should happen for this season once the FA period has started.

I feel we are to fair along this off-season to be playing with the roster size. If we leave it alone this year and impliment it next year I would be for it.
