Default NFL Draft Talk

Lets start with posting who should go in the top 5 in your opinion.

I'm not super knowledgable on college players, but one thing I've learned is that lineman last a LONG time and are much more predictable to be future studs than skill position players.

If I were the Chargers with the 1.1, I'd either trade down a couple spots and hope to land Gallary, or I'd bite the bullet and take him at 1.1.

At 1.2, I think the Raiders clearly need a QB, and if Eli is still on the board he's head and shoulders above Big Ben and Rivers (at least at this point).

At 1.3, Why the Cards are talking WR I'll never understand. They need defensive help, and they need it bad. My 1st choice for the Cards would be to trade down a few spots to a team hoping to land one of the big stud WR's, but if that can't be accomplished, I'd suck up and make the pick on the Defensive side of the ball where they most need help. With no top 5 DE or LB in the talent pool this year I'd say they should go for the hard hitting safety... Sean Taylor would be my pick.

At 1.4 I think the Giants will take Big Ben, I don't necessarily agree with it, but he seems to be the consensus choice as the 2nd QB off the board. Personally I'd try to trade down and try for Rivers instead.

Finally at 1.5 I think we'll see a flurry of teams trying to trade up to grab Fitz, and the Redskins will be a willing trading partner with their WR's pretty much set. Somebody is going to trade up and pay a fortune doing it to get Fitz. I'm not sure who that'll be, but the Skins seem to be keenly eying Winslow and may feel with all the WR's on the board they can drop a couple spots and still land him.

Well that's my failry uneducated opinion... feel free to pick it apart!

1.1 Chargers trade down. They would love Gallery, but I don't think they'd spend a 1.1 pick on him (which is what they would need to do). Manning is EXCEPTIONALLY tempting, but I think they will trade down, still take Big Ben or Rivers (so they get additional picks to fill gaping holes in their team.

Don't know who will be 1.1 - but whomever it is will take Manning.

1.2 Manning will be gone. Raiders will take Gallery.

1.3 Cards DO trade down (sound logic Preds). Whomever is here will take Taylor or Harris (DT). There is slim possibility of Fitgerald, but doubt it.

1.4 Giants stay and show Collins his days are numbered. Big Ben goes here (if still on board).

1.5 Washington will take either Harris if still on board or Wilfork (DT)

Liquid Swords predict:

1.1 Chargers trade down with Giants. Giants take Eli Manning.

1.2 Al Davis loves speedy receivers and goes with Roy Williams.

1.3 Denny Green has been infatuated with Fitzgerald since he was the ball boy for the Vikings. Even though WR is not the position they need to fill, they'll take Larry Fitzgerald.

1.4 Chargers once again trade down with Cleveland. Cleveland takes Robert Gallery.

1.5 Redskins may trade down but if they don't, I see Kenechi Udeze going here.

I want to get back to the Chargers so here are the next two picks in the draft:

1.6 The Lions pick Kellen Winslow, Jr.

1.7 After trading down twice and picking up more draft picks/positional players, the Chargers select Big Ben Roethlisberger.
