Didn't we move RFA until after the draft last season? Was that a 1 year deal? If so, I think it should be permanent. Just don't get tagging RFA's when we haven't seen the draft playout and how it might impact them. Just a thought to make our timelines permanent for the new season, including RFA declarations to start after the NFL draft. Anyone else with me on this?

We've had the RFA period before the draft every year that I have been in the league (including last year).
You can double check this by the date/tome stamps on the bidding and draft.

When would we move it to?
As it stands now, the RFA period is May1 to May31 with Rookie Draft Starting June1 and UFA starting the Monday after the draft ends.
Would we move Draft to mid-May and RFA to start the Monday after the draft and last 3 weeks, with UFA following - something like that? (I could definitely go for a shorted RFA period)
I would want a couple of weeks after the NFL draft before our rookie draft. Need to give the 'expert' time to tell us who to draft

That said, I do think it would be nice to see how the NFL draft plays out before declaring RFA's (since the draft can severely impact players you might think were set).

As for when to move it, make RFA declarations due within 1 week after the draft, then start RFA on the 8th day through the end of May. Rest of the schedule can stay the same. We generally only need 2-3 weeks to hash out RFA's. A shorter window may actually make things more interesting as well.

Ah, Yes David, I was thinking same thing..this does make more sense, and I am still all for both, moving it back a bit after actual NFL draft, and shortening the time frame of RFA bidding

Just noticed that the RFA Bidding close date is not correct. We voted last year to change the close date to May 25 to allow the RFA bidding and decline/match period a better chance to end before the Rookie Draft.

The end of off-season, declaration dates, and start of the in-season are inconsisent with the changes we agreed to last season.
