Like for example a simple 4 yard pass to Odell Beckham Jr. on the 3rd play of Sundays game.

How the refs missed the ball clearly hitting the ground and squirting behind his legs in crazy. That simple 4 yard play netted the Swords 0.9 points. Enough to be the difference in a Swords Wildcard Playoff win over my Preds.

I could be upset... rant, rave, downplay the loss, deflect blame... or I could simply accept the reality that we just weren't good enough and simply didn't deserve to win for our own actions. We knew Jordan Reed was a risky play, likely a decoy and not likely to be productive, yet we still didn't play Davis over him. Bad move. We started Watkins in a weak Bills offense where the game was clearly going to be ground and pound. Watkins went on to 1 catch and 3 awful drops. We forgot Baldwin played a Thursday game (which have hampered us all season), we wanted to start him over Sammy, but just forgot to switch him out till it was too late. We came THIS close to starting Frank Gore, though, in all honesty we would have played him over Stewart so that would have been a net loss.

When all is said and done, for the 4th time this season our team scored under 100 points (taking away the home field points). We didn't deserve to win, Pat and his Liquid Swords earned the victory, and we wholeheartedly CONGRATULATE them on the victory and wish you the best next week. Our draft slot can improve 1 slot if you knock off the always tough Opihi next week, so by all means take it all the way to the Championship Pat!

i've learned in SACD that a lot of luck can go into winning. A few years ago in a playoff game Mark Ingram won the game for me and he wasn't even on my team. Toward the end of the game he ran 40 yards or so for a TD on 3rd down. if he had gone down the Saints would have run out the clock. That gave Da Bears with with my QB/Cutler and WR /Jeffery a chance for a garbage time TD and the two of them had like 70 yards and a TD on the final drive to give me a win.

Oh no doubt, luck plays a HUGE factor!

I laugh at this situation as I saw the Beckham "catch" clip in my newsfeed yesterday and said to myself, watch that be the difference in the game. Turns out it was! Amazing how bad the refs can be on the simplest of calls!

As I told Pat and Jim via text, it will live on in Preds fans playoff lore as the phantom butt "catch"!
