2016 Rookie Draft Commentary

By my count 12 more draftable players were selected in rounds 2/3. It was a quick count might have missed some. If stay in the 5 slot I'm pretty sure my player is in this group.

I thought the most interesting picks were in the RB group; Derrick Henry/Titans and C.J Prossie/Hawks. Does the presense of Demarco Murray matter to Derrick Henry? Is CJ Prossie drafted higher because he MIGHT beat out Thomas Rawls?

You're right they are often taken, my search shows 3 since 2004 and one of those was a PK/WR.

I know of at least 2 K's in the past 5 years taken in the Frenzy draft. One of them by me.

IMO the only thing that will hold Rawls back is injury. The kid's a stud and I regret cutting him once and trading him later after picking him up as a UFA. I believe in the kid, just didn't have the roster availability at the time. In hindsight I should have let other guys go and never offered to trade him off so cheap to Burt as I pretty much felt Marshawn was walking at the end of the year.

I made a mistake moving him, one of many many mistakes I made last year!

Not much stuff out there yet on post draft rankings. However I did find 1 interesting ranking, Derrick Henry #10 RB and # 19 overall. At least one "expert" thinks D. Murray matters.

Why would I pick Henry at 5 when I could "reach" for him in the 2nd round?

I've put up a rules change proposal to push the Frenzy timelines back a bit each season to allow for the release of the NFL schedule and adapt to the later start of the NFL draft.

The Dogs have traded up to the number 2 pick and plan on taking the best WR in this draft class. There seems to be different opinions as to who that is. So who is it? I know I'm a little thin at RB and D. Henry would fit nicely on my roster, however when you have a chance to pick the best at a position it's hard for me to pass up. It's the old thing about need or best available. All of you saw the WR contracts in RFA this year.

Need is most important in FFB...it is a crap shoot at best predicting who the #1 is at any position because team fit and scheme are so important at the next level...I am not sure where you are getting info on who is "best", but I know a couple of Frenzy owners I am now tuning out when discussing 'talent'...caution is the name of the game my friend...good luck with your pick...p.s. - do you really think Henry is going to be a strong point getter this season? Future for sure just like Elliott...neither team added those horses to sit behind rookies, last I checked neither are named Peterson...I have 4 maybe 5 WR worth my 1.04 pick pending I go WR...I hope one falls to 1.08...and yes the RFA WR expenditures were quite over the top...

Just noticed the pay scale at the bottom of the draft tracker. I may not get a good player at 3.5 but on the bright side the most it will cost me is 220 cb.
