Default 2003 Supplimental Draft Results

4 teams entered the bidding for RB Tony Hollings of Houston, and the winnner is...

well

Houston, we have a sligtht problem (intentional pun ;))...

definately not in the running are:

the Insects who bid pick 3.6

or

the Predators who bid pick 2.3 (damn shoulda used 1.11)

the problem lies here:

The Rabid Llamas bid their 2nd round pick, as did Philadelphia

The Llamas picked 2.1 this year, and the Freedom 2.2

so

the winner should be Llamas correct?

ah, but herein lies the complication

the Llamas have already tied up their pick in 2004 in a deal with the Opihi, where the Opihi have the rights to swap picks if the Llamas pick is higher

meaning, that asRules Committee Chairman I have determined that the highest 2nd round pick the Llamas ould bid would be the Opihi's 2.5 selection

which makes....

the Philadelphia Freedom the winner f Mr. Hollings services at a salary of 810 in exchange for their 2nd round pick next year.

What a drama eh Matt ;)

Default Whoppee!

The Freedom are extremely excited to get Mr. Hollings and are glad that they risked the higher of their two second picks.

Mr. Hollings will be going to the DS (with another announcement pending to clear space for him) and we look forward to having this talented, young back for years to come. To that point please give him a 4 year deal.

Dang...I would have worked something out with Rich to enable him to get the pick... too bad the Rules Committee didn't speak with Rich first. Oh well... guess you got to make a decision somewhat quickly. Bummer, Rich... congrats, Matt!

Jim, I think in fairness I would have ruled against any post declaration trade. The bids were kept sealed till today and Rich should have known he couldn't use his 2.1 pick. Hey I lost him at 2.3, just 1 pick later lol.

Congrats to Philly on snaking him out. I had a feeling he might use his 2nd on him, but I was just unwilling to give up my 1st.

Default Whew!

I was gonna try and sneak in with 2.9 (BDSC pick) but I was afraid that with the dearth of RB talent next year someone else in the middle of the pack would beat me to him. I figured no one would shoot a first rounder out there all things considered, so it worked out well.

Good luck with him! I considered offering a 3rd rounder for him, but in all honesty, forgot to put in my bid. No biggie, as it wouldn't have been close anyway.

In the quest to ever find good cheap RB talent, this might work out... however, I didn't think it warranted my 2nd round pick, much less my first. We'll see...
