Any player drafted by the NFL (whether rookie or supplimental) must be required to be exposed to a frenzy rookie draft before being granted outright UFA. Further, the Frenzy will implement a blind Supplimental Draft on an as needed basis (i.e. whenever the NFL holds one and an offensive player is drafted).
The draft would consist of all interested teams e-mailing a 3rd party or blind source the player(s) they would like to draft, and what round & team's pick (since teams may hold others picks in the next years draft) they're willing to forgoe the following year to claim said player(s). The team willing to give up the highest pick would get the player(s), and in the event of a tie (where 2 or more teams submit the same round for any player) we would go by the current years rookie draft order for the picks listed to be forfeited in exchange for the player(s) with the highest pick being the winner. This is pretty much how the NFL does it from what I've read. It's not a real labourous process, in fact its pretty quick and easy. Any necessary supplimental draft would be scheduled within 3 weeks of the conclusion of the NFL's Supplimental draft for any given year. 1. If a player is selected through the supplemental draft his salary would be based on the pick that was given up for him. If pick 2.5 was the winning pick and the player is a RB his salary will be $720. 2. You can offer any pick in the following years draft as long as you own said pick and specifically specify which pick is being used. This is what the Texans did to get Hollings (using the Raiders pick). 3. The player if selected through the supplemental draft would be DS eligible. 4. Players that are exposed to the supplemental draft and not selected become UFA's just like players from our regular annual draft. 2003 Supplimental Picks Draft Order (in the event of a tie) 1. Rabid Llamas 2. Philadelphia Freedom 3. Urza's Ragers 4. Rabid Peacekeepers 5. Royal Hawaiian Opihi 6. Bay Area Bloodsucking Insects 7. Nittany Dodgers 8. Wonder Mutts 9. Brain Dead Squirrel Chasers 10. Hudson Valley Undead 11. Parkwood Predators 12. Jersey Toxic Waste Unanimous approval of all 12 teams is required for this to pass.

It's probably in the league rules... but I'm curious as to why this amendment must be met with 100% approval? Is it because it involves drafting?

Thanks for clarifying that Mike... I figured there was a legitimate reason... I was just too busy to look it up.

With one no vote, what happens now? Is he a FA or does he get to play in the NFL for a year and then enter the Feeding Frenzy draft?

My interpretation of what happens now... is that with the one NO vote... he plays in the NFL for a season, and will only be elligible to be picked up NEXT season in the Frenzy... now whether he's elligible for the 2004 draft (which I guess he has to be!) we'll have to wait for the commissioners' ruling.
Bummer. Looked like a very fair and reasonable process we had before us. |

Seems like someone did not feel like playing nice. Based on Mike's previous post it would seem like one of the following did not like the proposal:
Dodgers (any baby yet?), Toxic Waste and Peacekeepers Oh, well... |

Well I'm very surprised something we all worked so hard on was killed by one team. Almost the entire league gave input on this, and ideas given from multple teams were incorporated into the proposal.
I know who the ney vote was and will dicuss this with him to see if he'll change his mind. I just don't see where his concerns are. As for Hollings present status, wait till next year boys unless I can convince the ney vote to reconsider.

OK, I've spoken to the individual who killed the proposal regarding his ney vote, basically he felt like it was too much, but wasn't that torn either way. Since the rest of the league overwhelming supports the proposal he is willing to reverse his vote and make it a yes so that it will pass.

Now watch Hollings blow out his knee (again) in practice, before we get our 12-0 vote passed... for his sake, though, I hope not!

Hey, I'm back. Mike, I did send you that PM that you could vote in favor of the proposal in my absense. I voted yea just to make it official.
Yes, we finally had the baby (Jackson) on 7/29, and I've been busy at home ever since. |

One of my church members just gave birth to their third daughter... and I was asking her about her sleep (or lack thereof)... and she commented on how nice it would be if we still followed the practice of having wet nurses... then the mommies would get some sleep!!!
Strength, endurance & joy to you and your wife!!! |
