Welcome to the Eastern division. It may be a down year for the East, but trust me, your division mates are all knowledgeable and tough!

Looking forward to having you actively participate. Please don't hesitate to ask questions, it's a complex league and we are all willing to help you understand. We love active owners!

Welcome Jason!!! Unfortunately I have no Dallas players to have you overvalue in a trade but that's ok since our trade deadline has passed.
There is always next year!!!

When was the last one, like 20 years ago? I grew up in the SF Bay Area, a Niner and Steelers fan. Moved to Seattle later in life. You want to compare rings with favorite teams, lets go ;-)

Anyways, today, they are the Cowgirls and cannot hold a candle to THE Mighty Hawks!!

The 49ers have 5, too... So I'll grant they tie the Cowboys for championships. And way to be a bandwagon Steeler fan from the Bay! They're atop with 6! Seattle is playing well... But has a long way to go to catch up with the other three franchises we've been comparing.

Hmmm...well I started rooting for the Steelers when I was like 7yo..they were horrible, and the emblem on their helmet was same as my mom's steel vaccum cleaner (yah, I am old). My dad was big Notre Dame fan, and when they drafted Terry Hanratty, I was hooked. Of course they followed up with Bradshaw, and Hanratty never panned out.

But I was rooting for them long before they were GREAT in the 70's. The plus was they would crush the Raiders and Broncos in the playoffs, so made it even sweeter.

But like I said..that is in the past..currently, Seahawks are a much better team than either Steelers or Cowgirls, and they have proven to be the better of the Niners, who do not seem to be same team as last year...maybe something in the water they drank in playoffs, along with Houston, Baltimore and Atlanta?

I love stories about how we became fans of our favorite teams - away from geographic locales. I grew up in Arizona when the only professional team in the state was the Suns. When I was 8, I was watching the Cowboys-Steelers Superbowl X (the one with Lynn Swan's "catch!")... for some reason I started cheering for the Cowboys, who were losing. Then Staubach brought them back into the lead... Only to have Bradshaw rally the Steelers to victory. I sat in my living room in tears following the game. My dad asked why I was crying when I didn't even follow the Cowboys prior to that game. I had no response other than they were NOW my team.

I stuck with them through the Danny White years... Enjoyed their renaissance during the Big Three (Emmit, Troy & Michael)... and now have been suffering through the cant-win-playoff-a-playoff game drought.

I live in a state with no professional teams in ANY sport. So I'm stuck with my loyalties (Suns in the NBA, Dodgers in MLB, Devils in the NHL (grad school) & Cowboys in the NFL).

How about others' stories?

Dodgers and Cowboys? oh man...lets not even go there ;-)

So that year must have REALLY sucked for you..Cowboys losing to Steelers in SB twice in 4 years..AND Dodgers getting crushed by Yankees in WS twice in two years...

But good story for sure...

Baseball
I was a Reds fan the day I was born: Game 1 of the NLCS in 1975 vs Pirates. My entire family consists of Reds fans. The most memorable games I saw in person were Tom Browning's perfect game in '88, game 5 of the NLCS in '90 vs Pirates, and game 1 of the '90 World Series vs A's. I also became a Yankees fan at a young age. I was either 11 or 12 when my father and step-grandfather took me to a game at Yankee Stadium. Tommy John was the starting pitcher and Don Mattingly of course played first - both Indiana boys. Yankees were down by 2 in bottom of 8 when Dave Winfield came up with two on and belted a homer into center field to take the lead. Dave Righetti then came in to close it out.

College Football
Notre Dame and IU are my favorites. Being an IU fan, football season is often depressing; however, being from a large Catholic family, we all are Fighting Irish football fans. My dad use to be a huge Montana fan and is still a huge Bengals fan..."use to be" is the key phrase there...

Pro Football
I grew up a Bengals fan, but also became a Colts fan after they moved to Indy. My first real memories of football were when the Bengals beat the Chargers to go to the Super Bowl in 1981, only to lose to the 49ers (and Montana). Then the dreaded 49ers beat my Bengals in the '89 Super Bowl (Montana again). Head-to-head, I still cheer for the Bengals.

College Basketball
If you are born in the southern half on the state and don't live on a farm, you are an IU fan...and Bob Knight is king! Even though I grew up around farm communities, I did not grow up on a farm. Thus, I bleed cream and crimson...and yes Bob Knight is still king around here!

Pro Basketball
I've never been much of a pro basketball fan, but I did enjoy watching the Pacers and Reggie Miller. After Reggie retired, I lost interest in pro basketball again.

Hockey
I never really got into hockey as I never grew up around an ice rink nor any professional hockey teams. Although, my wife's uncle is a huge hockey fan (Columbus Blue Jackets) and took me to my first pro game last year...so I guess if I had to cheer for any team it would probably be the Blue Jackets.

FOOTBALL
I'm a tortured Buffalo fan. 'nuff said. TBH I took the past several years off as a Bills fan. Very hard to support them as the owner is just brutally bad, and I get tired about hearing the team may move as soon as the old fart passes (yes I despise Ralphie that much). I'm mildly interested in the latest generation of the Bills, like the young GM, and the new coach, but not at all sold on the Team President whose taken over for Ralph. So just cautiously monitoring their progress without any emotion one way or another. The past 14+ years of malaise have made it very difficult to care about the franchise. Fan apathy has been escalating over the past few years. The fan base is just beaten down and has had enough.

The Bucs are my 2nd NFL team, from back in the creamsicle Bucco Bruce jersey days when they were pathetic. The Bills were my AFC team and losing Super Bowls, and my best friend and I adopted the Bucs out of pity as our NFC team and have been strong supporters ever since.

I've been to 2 Super Bowls, witnessing the Bills lose their 4th straight Super Bowl in Atlanta in 1993, and then a decade later watching my Bucs defeat da Raiders in San Diego. So I guess I'm 1-1 in THE big game.

HOCKEY
A huge Sabres fan, but gonna be riding several years of suck before they are good again. Now that the naive multi-billionaire new owner has FINALLY cleaned house, there is a sense of fresh air in the organization. Patty LaFontaine as Director of Hockey Ops and Teddy Nolan as Coach are both very well liked in the community, so we'll patiently allow them time to rebuild the organization from the ground up. They weren't left with much to work with, as Regier just drove this franchise into the ground. They are epically bad this season. Thank god for fresh eyes on this trainwreck!

Other Sports
Have to admit, I don't follow ANY other sport. Just pro football and hockey.
