This is from the SAC'd thread but my understanding is that the IR opens prior to when the declarations are officially due to allow teams to use the IR slots. If I am missing something please let me know.

Sorry, Matt. Frenzy is a little different than SAC'D, then. You have to make your declarations first, THEN you can put someone on the IR. So you'll have to make room for the player (either on the active or taxi squad), THEN you can move him to IR.

Was there a change in the rule at some point? I was just looking at the Frenzy rules and it seems to be the same as SAC'D.

From Section 8B.1 Off Season Free Agent Bidding:

Off-Season Free Agent biding will open on May 16th each year and close the day after the 3rd NFL Pre-Season game (for most teams) at 11:59pm.

From Section 10 Injured Reserve:

The 1st available date will be a flexible date each year that basically commences the day after the 3rd pre-season games end (4th for the few teams that play 5). This will be approximately 7-10 days before the NFL regular season kicks off.

From Section 11C Season Timeline:

Monday August 29 at 12:00am - this will be a flexible date each year that basically commences the day after the 3rd pre-season games end (4th for the few teams that play 5). This will be approximately 7-10 days before the NFL regular season kicks off - 2005 Injured Reserve Opens

Well... good post. I guess I misread... and mis-remembered how we've done it in the past. I just looked over the past 3 years of declarations, and there was not a single IR move made - right before or after the deadline.

SO... we've got to go with the way the rules are written.
Now, we don't have an official week one injury report. So we can't put any player on the IR. But if he's definitely out (like already on IR), then it looks like making an IR designation first thing tomorrow morning is an option.

Any team who has CUT players, thinking an IR designation was not an option, I'll give you a 24-hour window to retract that cut and place him on IR.
