Just on a side note, is there some reason the bonuses in Frenzy jumped like that from 450 to 1400+ or whatever it was? Is there some kind of correllation with number of years the league was in existence, etc.?

BTW, the numbers look good to me. I'd suggest we correlate the scale for the WR's, TE's and QB's in the Frenzy as well.

With the RFA Tenders where they are for defensive players are we also going to change the rookie (draft) pay scale? If this was already done and I missed I apologize otherwise it looks like I can tender a DB for first rounder at $500. To draft a DB number 1 in the draft would cost $400. This seems to defeat the purpose of draft defense.
Just a thought. |

One last thought (question) is this retroactive to the draft that we did in 2005? Probably not a huge deal either way but I figured it can't hurt to ask (clairfy). Thanks!

OK, here's my final draft of my proposal reflecting a change to the "starters" at each position elligible for bonuses on their rookie contract.

On the flip side a rookie RB would be $600 at pick 1.1 but it would cost $3,200 to tender a proven top flight RB. This seems to be a huge difference that really would disincent us from drafting defensive players (especially DL and DB's). At first going with a third round tender offer made sense but I am not sure that it really helps that much. For example the DB, if taken at 1.1 is now $340. Better than $400 I am not sure that really balances the field enough. BTW, I am fully aware that it is unlikely that a defensive player would ever be choosen in the top 10 but I think the current pay scale (or even the revised) pay scale all but guarantees it. Also, the revised pay scale mentioned above actaully raises the cost of a LB. I apologize if this is not clear but I think it might be worth some further consideration. Thanks! |

Personally, I think the DBs rookie salary should be brought down to the same level of the DL rookie salaries. I know going into the season, those who knew IDP said DBs were more valuable. However, the average of the top 12 DL salaries was over 25cbs more than the top 12 DB salaries. The top DBs made more, but the salaries dropped rapidly. If people really think DBs should be paid more, then maybe we can balance that out by having the bonuses slightly higher for the DBs (I think I screwed that up by having the DL bonuses slightly higher on what I just posted). |

So, is this the final document we should go on for RFA's and rookie bonuses? It seems to still be in discussion and we are nearing the RFA declaration time...

It seems like the WR tenders were going to be changed but I was not sure if that had been finalized. Have we decided on this yet?

For WRs, I think the tender levels should be
1st-2400 2nd-1800 3rd-1200 4th-900 5th-600 6th-288 |
