There's still alot of talent out there in the FA pool. So who's the most coveted free agent available? My vote would have to go to Eddie George. All reports indicate he's healthier than he's been in a while. But many still question his health and wonder if all those carries have taken their toll. Regardless, he's still a warrior and if he's healthy he should be a top 10 back easy. I'd love to have him on my team.

If I was in the market for a top flight back, Stephen Davis would definately have to be at the top of my list. For as long as he's been around, I've always felt that Eddie George is the most over rated RB in the NFL. The guy is feast or famine, and the famine usually happens during the FF playoff run. Questions surround both these guys (George-injury concerns, Davis-Spurriers offense) but if I had to gamble my cyber bucks I'd be putting them on Davis who's a stud. Yes, he had a down year last year, but I think Spurriers new offense will reinvigorate the veterans on the team that were a little down on Shottenfnheimer last year, and they will play up to their potential.

With a healthy George, he'll come back with a vengeance. If I had the cap room, he'll definitely be the back the I would go after. 100 yds and a td/game is always good in my book.

I've always been an Eddie fan myself... I consider him the top UFA back. Of course, I have 300 cb's, so I doubt I'll be landing him!

I would bid George up to 310 just to spite you Mike!

I'd echo the vote on Eddie. I think he'll get the most bidding action. I had the difficult job of cutting him this year, even though he had another year to go on his contract. However, the former owner of the now-named OPIHI franchise had Eddie signed for 2250 cyber bucks... and that was a bit too steep for my blood.
I may still make an attempt at him (releasing some current players, if need be)... but imagine that he'll go beyond what I'm willing to spend. Second in demand would have to be the other recently released Eddie "Boo" Williams. ;) |
