A new scoring line item appears to be in play this year (it could be just the 1st time I've noticed it). However I don't see it in our scoring rules.
i'll use Seattle DST scoring for the example although a few others have it. SEA 4 points, 3 Special Teams Points Against Plus offensive points against. Anyone know what this means and when did we start using it? |

It's the same thing as DEFENSIVE POINTS AGAINST. The 49ers scored 3 points on Sunday. The Hawks earned 4 points for that.

I noticed that too Bobby...not sure if its new...this is what is says in MFL site about the setup options:
====================================== *Total Points Allowed This is the total points scored against a team in a game. (This matches the scoreboard points at the end of a game). *Special Teams Points Against This is the points scored against a team on Special Teams, which only includes points scored on Punt Returns and Kickoff Returns. It also includes any conversion points scored after the TD (extra point or a 2 Pt Conversion) *Offensive Points Against This is the points scored against a team on Offense, which only includes points scored via Passing and Rushing TDs as well as Field Goals. You can then individually use the Total Points Against or the Offensive Points Against categories or can combine "Offensive Points Against" + "Special Teams Points Against" scoring categories. ================================ I have a ticket into MFL to see if this is new, or if we just did not notice it last year....maybe Mike remembers setting it up this way..I did not change anything...

It's the correct setup for Frenzy's Rules which state:
I don't know when MFL changed the DST setup, but in the past there was a checkbox to omit scores that didn't occur while the D or ST was on the field (As indicated in the rules above). I noticed during the early games week 1 that interception returns and fumbles were being counted against the D/ST, so I checked the rules to confirm they hadn't been changed, then checked MFL to see why it wasn't scoring properly. Read up the FAQ on MFL with the new instructions to setup the scoring as Special Teams and Offensive Points scored against to match our D/ST scoring, and then reset the scoring criteria so it again matched Frenzy's rules as it had in the past.

OK, well not sure why it changed on us, forcing you to reset it..this is what MFL replied
"This rule has been available for quite a long time and would have to have been added by the commissioner as this was never a default setting." So who knows...but to answer your question Bobby, see Mikes reply

So... what needs to happen now? Is it not what we want?

Ok, as long as it's consistent with our rules. Looks like they just changed the way the info is presented. So all that new mumbo jumbo wording is saying "defensive points against" like Jim said in his post.
Thanks guys!! |

it's setup as per the rules. Just presented differently than in the past!
