Confirmed... :idiot

Re: Vibe and Pitbulls deal
I guess that means you're not going to deal Stallworth to me. :(

Re: Vibe and Pitbulls deal
FYI, this trade isn't "officially" anounced until 12:01am Thursday 3/31 (primarily to allow my squad the 24 hour window for contracts to expire at midnight 3/31 and keep me under the cap).
The reality is, we could have posted this tommorrow, but Brett's computer is in the shop at Best Buy with a bad HD, he had to go to a friends to leach some internet access to declare his RFA's tonight and confirm this deal. With the renegs, I'm over the cap by 270 or so, but that gets wiped out at midnight with all the 1 year contracts expired. If it's considered uncool, I'll cut Givens or something to be under. |
Re: Vibe and Pitbulls deal
I have no problem with that, but in that case the reference to Duckett going latteraly to the Vibe's IR is irrelevant since all IR's are cleared as of 4/1, correct?
Edited to add that I assume all of the renegotiations reflect renegotiations of 2006 contracts, and not 2005 contracts? |

Also, I've made another deal (pending final confirmation), so I'll be under the cap anyhow, but IMO, any team exceeding the cap or roster limit today is OK as long as they have room tommorrow after the 1 year contracts expire. As for the extentions, 2005 contracts are renegotiated, thus for example taking a 100 cb 1 year contrct and extending it to 2 years would mean that 100cb becomes 250 for 2005 and 275 in 2006 for the 2nd year of the deal after the 10% raise on April 1. |
Re: Vibe and Pitbulls deal
There are 31 days in March, no? So a deal made today is more than 24 hours away from contracts expiring at midnight tomorrow night.
I'm not going to make a stink about it but I think it makes a bad precedent. What is the difference between this and agreeing to a trade in January with the footnote that "it does not take effect until March 31 at which point the limits don't matter because contracts will expire the next day." I think it is abusing a loophole in the rules. But, if no one else sees it my way, then whatever. |

I was thinking today was the 31st. Then you are correct, teams need to stay under the cap and roster limits today. I'm now under BTW (just barely though). |
Re: Vibe and Pitbulls deal
How about Brett?

Re: Vibe and Pitbulls deal
Not to be s stickler but I agree with the Dodgers, its a wee bit weaselish. Reminds me of what me and Burt tried to pull in CDL last year at this time (Bulger, Wayne, etc) :)

Re: Vibe and Pitbulls deal
In post #6 you stated Duckett had to go to the IR for Brett to have enough room to accomodate this trade. That is why it appeared to be an issue.

Re: Vibe and Pitbulls deal
Brett made 2 cuts yesterday, and sent me 2 players, giving him 4 open slots, I sent him 4 players, 1 of whom was on IR.
Originally we didn't have Stallworth in the deal and he woulda needed to move Duckett laterally. When we changed the terms and players involved and he made 2 cuts he was actually fine without the lateral IR move, I just didn't realize it. And BTW, did we, or did we not clarify last year that laterally moving from 1 teams IR to anothers via trade was allowed? I'd swear we all agreed it was fine. |
