![]() ![]() Predators Correspondent Squirrels QB Tom Brady is looking to return to the east coast. Brady is being heavily courted by the 2003 Frenzy Bowl III Champion Parkwood Predators, although the Jersey Toxic Waste (the 2002 champs) have entered the bidding for his services as well. It is being whispered that Brady was both shocked and excited at the Predators aggressiveness at the opening of the RFA period. The two sides immediately came to tentative terms, but Jersey has decided to make Tom at least consider other offers. I interviewed Brady's father at his home in Boston earlier today. The elder Brady stated: "I think Tom, as a 2 time NFL Super Bowl MVP, values winning more than money. He wants to play for a championship organization, and both the Predators and Toxic Waste have shown the ability to win when it counts." Apparently Brady has grown discontent with the Squirrels “one and done” exits from the Frenzy playoffs each of the past 3 years. Brady's father went on to state "Tom was very disheartened when the Squirrels benched him in the playoffs in favor of Hasselbeck. He felt he could've done more than Matt. Maybe it wouldn't have been enough, but the organization’s lack of faith at a critical juncture in the team’s history was very frustrating to him. He watched a champion on the other side of the field, and knew that nothing would hold the Predators back the following week. Parkwood is the leagues premier organization, with more wins than any other team in Frenzy history and a prolific post-season record. Tom just wants to be a part of a championship organization in the Frenzy, and he'll go wherever he has to, to achieve his goal." Tom Brady also wants to get on the playing field. The fact that he was only started once last year (on Hasselbeck’s bye) was very frustrating for the young QB. “Tom wants to play, as any young player does, but the difference is Tom has shown that he DESERVES more starts” said the elder Brady. All that being said, this reporter has to wonder just how much the Mr. Brady is speaking from his heart, rather than his brain. The senior Brady is known to be an avid follower of the Predators organization, and would surely love to see his son play closer to home, but is it really in his son’s wishes? Signs point that way with Tom's acceptance of the Predators aggressive early offer, but even if they do come to final terms, will the Squirrels let their disenchanted backup go? This RFA period is like no other in Frenzy history, and this reporter can’t wait to see where the pieces land when all is said and done. |
