2014 Rookie Draft Commentary
Let's get this sucker rolling! Yeah yeah, I know "officially" we don't start until 5/21, but I'm ready to rock-n-roll and impatient!
So... with the 1.01 pick in the 2014 Feeding Frenzy Rookie Draft the Rabid Llamas select...

The WR's seem to be consensus top 2 picks in most league formats. Occasionally one of the RB's at 1.01, but they're rare from what I've seen.

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft Commentary
Rbs are turning into risky picks. What looks like a good pick one year might not look so good the following draft.
But I could use a Rb so don't make that risky pick. |

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft Commentary
Which means we need to draft more and more RB's, in hopes that one pans out for a couple years...

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft Commentary
I'm a firm believer that consistent elite WR's are the key to fantasy success. RB's aren't nearly as important as they were a decade ago IMO.
My roster reflects my beliefs.

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft Commentary
As much as I'd love to, there just no way I can take the homer. Not limited to this league, the Llamas are the harbingers of death to top rookies that we draft, so we need to stay away from Beckham. Very likely we'll go with 1 of the 2 and we'll toss a coin over the next 7 days to see which francise we doom.

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft Commentary
In less than 48 hours the Frenzy Rookie Draft will officially start. Rich and his LLAMAS organization will be on the clock beginning at 12:01am Wednesday.
BUT in great FRENZY TRADITION... should a team (like the Llamas, and then subsequently any other team following them in draft order) wish to make their pick early, no one will hold it against them. SO... there it is... |

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft Commentary
Should my pick come up on Wednesday, I likely will not be able to make it until Thursday as I will be travelling to Hawaii for my sister-in-law's memorial service. My time online may be limited between Wednesday (21st) and Tuesday (27th) but I should be able to make my picks in the allotted time.
Jim, I'm not sure what I will be doing on Thursday or Saturday but I may have some free time. I'll connect with you. |

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft Commentary
Sorry to hear about your loss Pat. I hope you are able to find time to meetup with Jim while you're on the islands. Not only is he a great guy, but who better than a Pastor to help comfort you after losing a family member.

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft Commentary
Thanks guys! She passed away a little over a month ago, but my brother wanted to wait until this weekend for the memorial service. His youngest daughter will be graduating from Mililani High School on Sunday, so he didn't want family to have to travel to the islands twice. I'm happy and sad at the same time as I haven't seen my brother and his family in over 5 years.

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft Commentary
In less than two hours, the 2014 ROOKIE DRAFT will officially begin. Right now, it's Matt's pick (FREEDOM, 1.02)... the clock starts at 12:01am EST.
While we each technically have 24-hours to make a pick, it's generally understood that we'll pick/trade as soon as possible, in order to keep the draft going. If you know that you'll be unavailable for most of your 24-hour window, just post a quick note here, so we're all aware. If you know you'll be away (traveling, working without access, etc.), one option is making a list of the players you'd like to pick, and then sending it to some other owner in the league that you trust. I'm happy to be that person, if you have no one else. Just send me a PM. |

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft Commentary
Jason had a work related accident yesterday, getting his hand caught in the riding mower. He had surgery yesterday, losing part of two fingers. I will see if I can help him get his pick in, but if Chuck picks early today, he may need his full 24 hours, as I assume he is on some pretty strong pain killers while he heals up.

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft Commentary
Talked to Jason this morning...sounds like he is doing ok, so he said he should be able to get online and do some research and should be able to pick today if he comes up.

Good to hear. Amazing to be honest. Losing parts of his fingers just blows. Feel for him.
