4.06 RB Adimchinobe Echamandu - Cleveland
Both the guys that I wanted at 4.01 are still here but I am going to go with the RB here. Kind of surprised to see him still on the board (I wonder if there is something that I am unaware of?)
From what I have read (only saw him on TV a couple of times) Echamandu is a physically gifted prospect who stepped up to the plate as a senior at Cal (1234 yards and 13 TD’s and 22 catches 185 yards). He is still a raw talent that needs work but he's a back who can be productive in a rotational system and might even be able to start in the future. Of course, he has a bunch of people ahead of him in Cleveland right now, but it's not like William Green and Lee Suggs are sure things. Seems like a nice upside pick this late in the draft. |

This was the guy I was struggling over whether to take at 3.17. His reported lack of elusiveness is what caused me to go another route. I was holding my breath to get him at 4.08, though! Drat!

He's one of the RBs still on my "short list" (and getting shorter!) for the 4.11 pick. I almost chose him with the 3.11 selection, but went with Farmer. Then when today's FBG's email came out, I knew he'd never make it to 4.11. If you've got a "longterm" place on your bench, Matt... he could be worth it. Congrats.

Re: 4.06 RB Adimchinobe Echamandu - Cleveland
A good pick this late in the draft. I passed on him because of his injury history, which is similar to that of Justin Fargas. Torn ACL in 2002, and then after coming back and putting up good numbers his senior year he fractured his fibula to end his 2003 season. No one really knows where his leg stands at this point, as he is still rehabilitating. Still a good prospect who could see the field in a few years.
