2.8 TE Ben Watson, NE
The Undead have risen from their grave and find TE Ben Watson still available at 2.8. GM Morse wonders, is this a good thing or a bad thing? The value at this pick is attractive... but a TE handcuff? Can any serious GM draft a TE handcuff and retain the respect of his peers? GM Morse considers whether he has any respect to retain. If both Watson and Graham turn out to be busts, will he ever live this down? GM Morse considers that he is undead, and therefore need not fear living anything down. Other than as a living corpse, and really, how much worse can it get than that?
And so, making the decision he kind of hoped he wouldn't have to make, GM Morse first switched into the first person, and then I selected, with my first pick in the 2004 draft, TE Ben Watson of New England. |

damn Jeremy, you do LOVE your TE's lol... there is still 1 player I have rated higher that should have been picked already IMO, but Watson is OK at this point I guess.

Re: 2.8 TE Ben Watson, NE
One of the most intriguing picks in the draft, IMO. What is one to think about a TE that runs a 4.4 forty, has a 40 inch vertical, benches 535 lbs (yes, 535 lbs!) AND scored a 41 on his Wonderlic test (the third highest in the entire draft class)? Oh yeah, and spends his off time volunteering for groups including Habitat for Humanity, Mentoring for Athens/Clarke County Leisure Services, Reading Programs at local elementary schools, Fellowship of Christian Athletes Spokesperson, Boys and Girls Club of Athens, Americas Second Harvest Food Bank and the Volunteer Salvation Army Toys-for-Tots programs. Watson may be the most gifted player in this year's draft... its just not certain whether he can funnel it all into football skills. Great pick Jeremy! There's a reason Watson was taken in the NFL's 1st round.
