1.16 RB Greg Jones - Jacksonville
When I saw how this was unfolding and the prospect of Jones falling to 16, I figured that this was too good to be true. He offers the skills to be a big interior runner as well as the abilities to take it on the outside if necessary. He could emerge as a viable fantasy option for one simple reason: He could be the goal-line back. Head coach Jack Del Rio mentioned that possibility after the draft, and Jones should be an excellent short-yardage back. This seemed a much better place to draft a potential DS back who I can stash him away while we wait to see if Fred can stay healthy. Of course if he will be used as a goal line back he may be able to be the RB3 or RB 4 this year.

An Alstott clone, not a bad choice, but unless Taylor gets hurt I think it'll be hard to rely on him at any point as an RB3.
The talent level has significantly waned however, so overall not a bad choice. |

Great pick. I think Jones is undervalued and can be a feature back if given the oppurtunity. I debated between Jones and Woods at 1.13 but could not justify taking another risky RB when Woods has a chance to produce quickly. Also, Freddie is still relatively young and healthy (as of this posting). But who knows, Fred could rip the other side of his groin reaching for a Coke in the fridge.............

I think the occasional TD run (not to mention Fred injury history) could make him work as a RB3 or more likely an RB4.
