4.15 TE Jordan Akins, HOU
And MR. IRRELEVANT for 2018 is Houston TE Jordan Akins. He's a 26 year old rookie from the 2017 "co-national champions" University of Central Florida Knights. (Wait, did you say 26 years old?!? What's up with that?!) Yep. He entered college in the class of 2010 playing two sports... then got drafted by the Texas Rangers and played 4 seasons in the minor leagues, before coming back to college to finish his degree (and football eligibility). Where he really stood out, however, was in this year's SENIOR BOWL... consistently getting open no matter who was covering him. It was enough for the Texans to spend a 3rd round pick on him in this year's NFL draft. So you know the commitment that comes with being a 3rd round pick! Yah, the TE landscape is a bit crowded right now in Houston. But the kid has maturity, is a very physical receiver, and can work the seam like few other TEs in this year's class. And with a future of receiving the ball from Deshaun Watson, he could be a hidden gem that eventually pays dividends! Welcome to the Opihi! (And thus ends the 2018 Frenzy Rookie Draft) |

I was deciding between him and Richie for my last pick.

Evidently great minds think alike, as Richie was my #1 choice for the 4.15 slot.

I seriously looked at Akins at 3.07 before deciding to focus in on RB and eventually settling on Bo Scarbrough over Edmonds and Boston Scott. Akins may well be a great pick, time will tell.

The kid can catch. But can he block we’ll enough to see the field?

Re: 4.15 TE Jordan Akins, HOU
