Looks like John is "working the phones" with his 1.08 pick... could Burt be looking to trade up?!?

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft Commentary
Matt is on the clock... and he's usually an "early to bed, early to rise" kind of guy... living on the East Coast... so I'm guessing the Frenzy Draft will be on hold until the AM! Great day of picks (& trades), everyone!

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft Commentary
Can someone explain why the picks do not seem to be in order? It does not appear that anyone has missed a pick due to time constraints. Is it just a matter of the site and/or time zone differences? I would think the internet would not allow this to happen. Just curious....

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft Commentary
If you look at the original time-date stamp on the picks, they are in order. But then whenever someone REPLIES to a thread, that thread gets bumped to the top of the page... thus, the order gets mixed up. No one missed their pick due to time constraints.

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft Commentary
With the emergence of huge, high scoring TE's, I think its time to revisit the rookie salary structure for TE. 100cb for a 1st round pick? That seems ludicrous to me, especially if you are getting the so called next Jimmy Graham

If you get the next Jimmy Graham it is ludicrous. If he isn't Jimmy Graham then it's about right.

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft Commentary
Well, in previous couple years, we've seen VD, Gronk, Julius Thomas, Jordan Cameron and Charles Clay all bust out, all between 10-14 points per game, with the exception of Clay, who was close to 10.
Those are top 25 numbers compared to WR's. I am not talking about bumping them up to WR numbers, but I think ANY player drafted in 1st round needs to be above the minimum salary level.

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft Commentary
I was just thinking that yesterday when I was typing in the salaries for the two TEs taken. Not a huge jump... But more than what we've got.

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft Commentary
I would think doubling the starting TE scale would be fair for 2015 forward.
Start at 300 and drop by 10 every pick every pick instead of 5. WR's start at 350. Would probably want to look at the rookie bonus scale too.

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft Commentary
Pat is on the clock... But I just left him after being at his sister in law's funeral. I'm sure later on today he'll get around to picking. Grace abounds for he and his family.

Re: 2014 Rookie Draft Commentary
Dale (Scorpions) and his family, hit the road last night to start their 2 week vacation. I texted him that he is up in the draft. But assume they got up early this morning to resume their drive to St. Louis, which I believe is their first destination. So he may not pick until later tonight.
