2.2 WR Javon Walker, Green Bay Packers

The Predators have been troubeled by who to pick with their 2nd selection since the beginning of the draft, which is one reason we traded down from 1.11 in the first place.

In the end, we still got 1 of the 3 guys we wanted. We would have like Josh Reed since he's a local boy, however Javon Walker may be more valuable in the end. In the various rookie drafts we've reviewed, we've seen Javon go anywhere from 1.6 (mulitple times) to 2.6 (an avg of around 1.9) so we also see him as a value selection at this point. Reed has fallen much lower in many drafts.

We anticipate Walker being given every opportunity to produce in GB, particularly since they paid so much to move up and draft him in the NFL draft (1.28 and a 2nd and 3rd).

With Freeman likely to be cut, and only Terry Glenn, Donald Driver, and Robert Ferguson as competition, we like Javon's chances of starting and producing big numbers right away. He should be a solid compliment to Ashley Lelie on our Development Squad.

Better yet, he will help neutralize Brett Favre when we play the Undead (our Div Rival)... an extra bonus!

Yeah, we thought about Walker, but since he's likely to peak just as Favre should be retiring, we took a pass. Oh, but don't worry, I'm sure Green Bay will have another great QB in the wings! ;)
