Bears 3.03 RB Garrett Wolfe Chicago

I love getting Wolfe here. Even though he is undersized, I believe he has a chance to put on some muscle and be a very effective 3rd down back in the NFL. If he bulks up, that could change to more downs. I like his future situation and if you watch some video on this guy (especially playing vs. THE Ohio State) he's impressive.

Yup, love the Wolfe pick, he was the other guy I had targeted for this round.

As I mentioned on IM to you, when I posted in my 3.02 pick availability thread that some teams should look to move up to that pick, I was specifically thinking Popes who shoulda looked for Wolfe as the handcuff for Benson.

Nice pick.

I was more interested in handcuffing Booker to Brown, but regardless, I didn't have the draft picks to do either, given what I needed to accomplish WR-wise.

Not at this time. He doesn't fit into my TS plans. However, that can always change (and probably will, with how often I trade). Maybe we'll talk about him down the road...

Also, I only have Benson for 3 years and I have the Adrian Peterson (Chicago version) handcuff for 2007. Given the limited two years that the Wolfe handcuff might even come into play, I'm better off getting WRs that might pan out in this draft.

Pet peeve: whoever puts together "highlight" reels of players and posts them on youtube needs to be smacked.

1. Do we need to see the same plays 5 times each? That Wolfe clip was almost 5 minutes long and it didn't even have 10 unique plays on it.

2. Is it really an individual highlight if the player doesn't do anything special? For example, the second Wolfe screen pass. It's perfectly executed by the team. The blocking is superb. He can run straight and fast for 30 yards before any OSU players can even get near him. Any player can do that. It's like the defensive highlight reels where it's one play and it's the LB blitzing, no blocker even tries to pick him up, the QB is looking the other way, and the LB crushes the QB. Is that a personal highlight? ANY player can do that. If that's the guy's highlight, then he's not that good.

Sounds like someone is secretly mad he didn't get Wolfe or Booker in this draft!

Ha, nice try! Not at all. I could have drafted either one of them if I wanted to.

Just a longstanding pet peeve with all of these "highlight" reels. This one was just a good illustration. That said, Wolfe had some NIFTY runs in there. So why bog the video down with plays that aren't individual highlights (though they are team highlights)?
