2007 Rookie Draft Commentary - Page 4

Wow, I really thought I'd be able to make my first pick before I left work today, and with the way yesterday went thought my 2nd would have an outside chance. Ah well. I'll be leaving in half an hour and will be able to be on only sporadically tonight. I know who I'm picking, will not be trading the pick, and can pick at any time, so if I see I'm up, I can make it, but I don't know if I'll get to a computer before 8 pm CENTRAL TIME YOU EASTERN PREFERENCE SHOWING BASTAGES tonight.

I PM'd Matt a few hours ago... letting him know that he was on deck, pending the Amish pick. Hopefully he'll get home from work shortly and be able to analyze the draft board...

I set aside 5 picks before I left work and four of them are now gone.

The draft will resume tomorrow by 8am EST (I apologize for the delay but I am not totally sold on anyone and want to refer to my materials (which are all at the office

#1 - Popes deal - I was involved for about 1 hour max. More like 45 minutes and I made my pick within 15 minutes of trading.

I think he was just playin... not attacking you personally (I know I've been playin at least wtht he bitch'n).

It's all good... you want to see anger, ask the folks in SACD who went nuts after I traded up for 1.3, then spent a near entire day looking to see if I could move it for more! They were hate'n on me there, and rightfully so!

Maybe it just my "newbie" status, but I assume EVERYONE here is joking when it comes to "HURRY UP"-type comments. If anyone is seriously annoyed with me, then we have problems.

I take it all in good fun, and I take as much time as I need to build my team.

FWIW, Freedom has made numerous statements about making his pick before he was ready because of all the bitching. I hope that's not really the case. If it is actually having that effect on people, then the joking needs to end.

I was mostly joking. I am tethered to my computer all day at work and was hoping to make my pick yesterday. When I got home and was up it seemed like there were quite a few people that wanted to move things along. I felt bad holding things up for 12 hours (or whatever) so I picked. At the same time I knew the rules and I could have held out and waited to pick. I just figured I was going to end up making the pick in the AM just the same as I would in the PM so it did not matter.
