1.02 RB Ronnie Brown, Miami
With the 2nd overall selection in the 2005 Frenzy Rookie Draft the Brain Dead Squirrel Chasers select
Ronnie Brown, RB Miami We would like to give the Predators a big for allowing this future HOF to fall to us. Thanks again Mike! Saban is going to ride Brown all the way to the bank. Carnell will be stuck in Gruden's RBBC hell for years. Edit: because I always forget those cool NFL icon thingies Last edited by Brain Dead Squirrel Chasers; May 4th, 2005 at 11:13 PM. |

Re: 1.02 RB Ronnie Brown, Miami
:yuk
I rank Caddy a full 2+ tiers above his Auburn backup. Ronnie has proven nothing. Great combine numbers DO NOT equate to a great back. Why GM's overlook on the field production for 1 day workout numbers is beyond me. He's gone to a terrible team, that has NO OFFENSIVE LINE, and plays in a brutally difficult division. I rank a "differnt" back as the RB2 in this class. My ranking is #1 - Caddy HUGE DROPOFF #2 - RB "x' Another Big Dropoff #3/4 - Ronnie Brown and RB "y" You can have him, I had ZERO interest in taking him as you know. And I think I've scouted pretty well in past Frenzy drafts, so I'm very comfortable that I made the right choice. ;) |

Re: 1.02 RB Ronnie Brown, Miami
ROFLMAO... this, from the guy with such a great draft history as:
2002 (Quality Players = 0 of 3) 1.8 WR Dante Stallworth (No) 2.8 Maurice Maurice (Sea) 3.8 Adrian Peterson (Chi) 2003 (Quality Players = just plain 0-fer) Nobody (literally) 2004 (Quality Players = ... early returns say 0 of 6, 1 of 6 would be a success) 1.10 RB Cedric Cobbs (NE) 1.13 WR Rashaun Woods (SF) 2.13 WR Derrick Hamilton (SF) 3.10 QB Jeff Smoker (StL) 3.16 RB Brandon Miree (Den) 4.10 TE Ben Hartsock (Ind) I'll even save you the trouble of researching my picks: 2002 (Quality Players = 2 of 3) 1.9 WR Ashley Lelie (Den) 2.2 WR Javon Walker (GB) 2.4 TE Jerremy Stevens (Sea) 2003 (Quality Players = 3 of 5 at least, possibly 4 of 5) 1.5 WR Andre Johnson (Hou) 1.11 RB Onterrio Smith (Min) 2.9 TE LJ Smith (Phi) 2.10 TE Dallas Clark (Ind) 3.5 RB Avon Cobourne (Det) 2004 (Quality Players = ... early returns say 2 of 6, 3 of 6 very possible) 1.3 RB Tatum Bell (Den) 1.12 QB Eli Manning (NYG) 3.9 RB Jarrett Peyton (Ten) 3.12 WR Samie Parker (KC) 4.12 WR Jericho Cotchery (NYJ) Let's see, using you're best case scenario on picking players, and my worst case, I have it 1 of 9 vs. 7 of 14. Yeah, sure... I think you've nailed it with your expert opinion on Ronnie vs. Caddy... NOT. |

Re: 1.02 RB Ronnie Brown, Miami
Alright since you asked, lets break this down.
2002 (Quality Players = 0 of 3) 1.8 WR Dante Stallworth (No) - Big disappointment, no arguments. Has shown flashes but does not have consistency. 2.8 Maurice Maurice (Sea) - chosen as a backup for Shaun Alexander, didnt expect much 3.8 Adrian Peterson (Chi) - chosen as a backup for Anthony Thomas, didnt expect much 2003 (Quality Players = just plain 0-fer) Nobody (literally) -ahh the good ol times when rookies werent worth the salary they earned. Yeah, fault me for dumping those worthless (dare I say negative) picks for trade value. 2004 (Quality Players = ... early returns say 0 of 6, 1 of 6 would be a success) - Way too early to judge this but I still like Cobbs potential and Woods has already been packaged to get Portis. But we'll see about how that works out. I think you put it kindly and said Frank "raped" me. I do regret taking Hamilton over Watts but c'est la vie. Everyone else was a crapshoot. 1.10 RB Cedric Cobbs (NE) - 1.13 WR Rashaun Woods (SF) 2.13 WR Derrick Hamilton (SF) 3.10 QB Jeff Smoker (StL) 3.16 RB Brandon Miree (Den) 4.10 TE Ben Hartsock (Ind) I'll even save you the trouble of researching my picks: 2002 (Quality Players = 2 of 3) 1.9 WR Ashley Lelie (Den) - was thought to be a bust after his 2nd year but had a good 3rd year 2.2 WR Javon Walker (GB) - is this the same guy you were practically begging someone to take off your hands last year? Yeah, I'm sure you foresaw Walker's breakout...... 2.4 TE Jerremy Stevens (Sea) 2003 (Quality Players = 3 of 5 at least, possibly 4 of 5) 1.5 WR Andre Johnson (Hou) - Great pick, especially since it netted you 1.1 and Peyton!!!! 1.11 RB Onterrio Smith (Min) - Call me crazy but what exactly has O. Smith done? He's had what, 5 good games? Is that why Minn drafts a RB every year while O. Smith is quality? 2.9 TE LJ Smith (Phi) 2.10 TE Dallas Clark (Ind) - Good TE pickups, especially where they were drafted. Too bad though, Jason Witten was picked by the Mutts at 3.6. 3.5 RB Avon Cobourne (Det) 2004 (Quality Players = ... early returns say 2 of 6, 3 of 6 very possible) 1.3 RB Tatum Bell (Den) - Selected over Steven Jackson. Ballsy no doubt, will it pay of? I'm inclined to think negative. 1.12 QB Eli Manning (NYG) - I justed missed out on Eli. Actually wait, I dont really care. He'll never be more than a backup FF QB.3.9 RB Jarrett Peyton (Ten) 3.12 WR Samie Parker (KC) - Are you seriously? HAHAHAHA 4.12 WR Jericho Cotchery (NYJ) Quote:
I'm glad it makes you feel better to parade your draft history but at least compare apples to apples. 2002 was the only year where its even remotely realistic to compare how well the drafts went. But to brag while Javon Walker is your only pick to significantly outperform his draft slot. Woopdeedoo..... But forget all the past. Lets focus on the future. Since you're so inclined to give out your RB rankings, I'm willing to bet you that Brown will outperform Arrington this coming year. If I win, I want a pic of you holding a sign that says, I was right about Joe...."NOT" |

Re: 1.02 RB Ronnie Brown, Miami
I would just like to point out that people who know were saying that Ronnie Brown would turn into a better pro than Cadillac far before the combine. I saw a few Auburn games this past season, and they were talking back then that Ronnie was a much better all around back. Yes, Cadillac is a better pure runner, but Ronnie is a better receiver, blocker, and is no slouch of a runner either. Think of it as an OJ Simpson vs an Emmitt Smith type comparison. I doubt many people would claim Emmitt to be better than OJ based on pure running ability, but no one would deny that Emmitt is the better all around running back. How that translates into Fantasy production depends greatly on their surrounding talent. I don't think Miami has to increase their offensive talent significantly to allow Ronnie ample opportunity to be a top back.
