Well at this point in the draft I'm going for upside. Smoker's had his share of off the field struggles. He missed the final 5 games of 2002 after he checked himself into a substance abuse program. He was able to compete for the starting job in 2003 at Michigan State. Lets hope he's matured and his problems are in the past.
Not a bad pick here. His tool set could fit into the Rams' system.
While I think this guy would (or should) have been there for one of your next couple of picks, I think that reasoning is out the window at this point. There are no real sure fire prospects left at this point, and I think people are just going to take who they like most from this point out.
